The best thing is each of the 5 or so times he changed his mind, it was "DEFINATLEY not gonna change my mind again"

He sounds like the type of person that will buy both at some point, he is really attached to either.  He must be using either a Galaxy or Iphone or both.

Yeah i asked, he will buy XO now, when there is a Halo Special edition. 

Just for curiosity but, how old is that guy?

 

@OT: It happened to me with the PS3. After being a happy user of the GameCube and the PS2, I was convinced to get a Wii and a PS3... until they revealed the price. That and the early years of worse multiplats made me get a Xbox360.

This gen, however, I already have a WiiU and I'll probably play on PC for the multiplats, so the chance of getting a PS4/X1 before they reach a price of 200 € (so in at least 3-4 years) is very, very low.

I still love Sony, but in face of the current brazilian price, I am considering buy a Xbox One first and a PS4 in a year or two. However, I haven´t made my decision yet and it will be all about how long can I wait or where can I look for the consoles when both are at market here in Brazil.
As of now, I find myself looking at brazilian online stores everyday checking the One and the titles for it, and the current prices. There are no PS4s for sale in here yet, because of the high price, they chose to not do pre-sales.
I found a store (big one) offering the One for 850 dollars here, which is an amazing deal comparing to PS4 brazilian price, 2k dollars.
Having the national version of these consoles would be nice, since they will probably break, as launch hardware often does.
So, I find myself in doubt these days. Ah, almost forgot, the WiiU was finally relesead here, it is 825 dollars and it is an oficial import, meaning it comes as it was shipped overseas, no brazilian touchs whatsoever.

Did he already heard that COD has framerate-issues on PS4? Maybe he flops again.

It has always been X1 for me. My daughters absolutely love Kinect and with the new camera and features the extra $100 is no brainer for my family and I. I am 35, love sports and all the NFL integration, snapping, TV Box features, ect. The fact that I can play awesome 1st and 3rd party stuff while getting all the other features made the X1 an easy choice for me.

Was getting both in January 2013 and still am getting both now.

Will have to wait longer to get the One because of availability though. (damn it would have been sweeet if I could have gotten both this December )

To be honest it doesn't matter what MS or Sony did with these consoles i would have still bought both. Even if MS had a 24 hour connection thing I would have still gotten it.

Just thinking about my track record--

-I was a die hard Nintendo fan but I jumped from N64 to PS1 as my primary console in 1997.
-I jumped from PS2 to Dreamcast in 2000 and then back to PS2 in 2001 (bought more PS2 games but Gamecube eventually became my favorite that gen)
-I jumped from PS3 to Xbox 360 and never looked back
-I jumped from DS in 2004 to PSP in 2009

I usually end up just buying everything so I can play whatever I want to play whenever I want to play it. I'm a gaming mercenary with no loyalties.

Yes.

I loved my xbox360 and was planning on buying the next MS console until they revealed that monstrosity of a machine that would become the XBone.

The day they announced the DRM, always online, and mandatory Kinect I traded about 20 of my XB360 games for a shiny new PS3 and a few games and I haven't looked back.

I have no loyalty to any company. If they try to fuck me, they don't get my money any more. Simple.
