hi!this is my first thread. so i give you a simple topic.why do you play games?yes,what are reasons for you to play games?

Because I'm poor and as a form of entertainment they work out to be quite cheap in comparison to going out, drinking and other social activities, I also have a fairly decent circle of friends all who are in a similar situation to me and aye, a 50euros game every other month is a hell of a lot cheaper than a single 2 hour session at a bar here.

Should point out Irish taxes are ridiculous when it comes to alcohol and I come from a town which has more bars than it has streets and as a Diabetic I don't actually drink at all myself to begin with regardless of the pricing.

edit - Nice first thread btw, a really deep question for some people to think about it. you don't see many other activities which you started to do when you were 5-10 continuing into middle age heh.... I know I wouldn't fit on my big-wheel trike today that's for sure hahaha.

Because it's fun. Why else?

Because they're fun and make feel like I'm in another world.

I play them for fun, why else would I play them?

For fun, for challenge, new experiences, to try things I will probably never have the money to do in real life. Because, games are by far my favorite form of entertainment.

I think what Aviggo77 is trying to find out is more why do you spend your spare time playing video games and not something else such as reading/studying/socializing if I'm correct? As in why when you have some spare time does it go on clicking on a cookie or killing mobs in a game to lvl up a character so you can kill bigger mobs.

I play video games because I like to count pixels and then go onto VGC and derail threads about games that have less pixels than mine. Its fucking awesome.

This right here, that profile picture you have, for the majority of people the only chance we'll get to drive these kinda bad boys is in Forza or Gran Turismo. I love games for allowing me to do this even if it is in a virtual scenario. Heck I bet even the most flush amongst us on here will never the the opertunity to run into the middle of old trafford to cheering crowds along with the rest of Man utd and not immediately find themselves being Tazed by security until they shit their pants hahaha.
