I meant Nintendo kinda abandoned the Wii, but you're right it's more like 2011+ it got abandoned. 2011+ it was just Project Rainfall, Skyward Sword, and Mario Party 9. Pikmin 3 was suppose to be a Wii title, but got ported to WiiU last minute.

Yeah, 2011-2012 was the dry spell. Thank God for games like Skyward Sword, Xenoblade, The Last Story, and Project Zero 2 Wii Edition, or it would have been unbearable.

We never got Project Zero 2 in North America, but honestly Skyward Sword & the Project Rainfall games were IMO the best games released on the Wii.

I wish Nintendo published more games, or assimilated other Japanese developers. I'm really hoping on a Starfox by Platinum Games one day down the road.

Yeah it's a shame, Project Zero 2 is amazing. And I definitely agree that Skyward Sword and Xenoblade were among Wii's best.

"2014 has by far the BEST lineup (atleast in my opinion) of exclusives in gaming history."

theoretically I wouldn't bother to reply to that since it's fine if you think so, but I heard this sentence (with changed date) so often I just need to make clear that a lot can still change.
Especially Nintendo who delayed their HD games quite often in the past. Don't expect everything to make the cut.

Lol this. I bet half the games in the OP aren't coming in 2014.

You'd know to be more wary if you've been expecting Versus and The Last Guardian for the past 5 years.

There are no ifs or buts. These games MUST come in 2014.  The Last Guardian being released was not a matter of life or death. PS3 had a whole lot of other games coming.

This however, is a whole different ball game. Every effort will be made to get these games out and I think they will succeed. Yes there is a chance that they might not succeed but considering what's on the line I think they will.

As for the last guardian, maybe it will be on the PS5.

Nintendo is not going to rush unready games on the market.

And besides games like X, SMT x FE and Bayonetta 2 aren't going to be the games that will sell the Wii U.

They really should, though. We're obviously going to have to wait and see just how much better the PS4 does, but continuing to invest in the Wii-U could end up backfiring really bad for Nintendo. They clearly have a much stronger stake in the portable market, and that's where they should devote their resources. It'll just be so much more financially beneficial for them in the long run. They're losing so much money on the Wii-U as is, and nobody's really buying the system. Nintendo themselves even admitted it's not a worthy successor to the Wii. Just let it go and focus on making a new handheld to bring to the market down the road.

Unless software sales pick up - I doubt Nintendo can turn a profit on the Wii U. They had to bundle one of the heavy hitters and sell at a giant loss just to stay competitive. Also Bayonetta 2 and Shing Megami Tensei are not system sellers - they aren't going to make people run out to buy the console. Matter of fact, they will probably tank

Careful; people also said nobody would buy a Wii U for Pikmin 3 or Wind Waker.

The implication of Pikmin being a system seller....

Just curious, when did you start gaming again?

Its ten ten times better than the Wii, not a worthy successor lol Nintendo is the heart of the gaming industry and without them the gaming world wouldn't be the same.

Pandora's Tower is the only one which I just consider average. I think the game could use more polish, the core gameplay and mechanics are solid, but the game just feels a bit stiff.

That said, when X releases, I will buy a WiiU. I have to, XenoBlade was so good. I also hope Nintendo publishes another of Mistwalers works, Lost Odyssey and The Last Story were great games, Lost Odyssey being my favorite JRPG from last gen.

Wii U sales rose 183% in Japan with its release. Very clearly it sold systems.

A Wii U sequel to The Last Story would be AMAZING.
