Your logic seems mostly fair and hope most of turns out to be true. I like some good competition on the 8th gen. I might just buy an Xbox for the multimedia functions. I personally would like a box that can do everything (except spying), but I'm still not sold on xbox lives worth. I just hope competition can help change that. If not, then I guess my PC will continue do just as fine.

I'm a sceptic on Sony's software interface & applications. I think I need 1-2 years to see if they optimize the OS & fill it up with useful applications that actually have a demand.

Your very first point hurts your cause. It's not set in stone at all that the PS4 will outsell the other consoles this gen, although it sure does have a lot going for it right now.
And I think you iterate the "PS4 is the most powerful" point to often with the "multiplats/res framerate .." points.

Agree with some bits, strongly disagree with others.

WiiU sales may not improve much at all. Windwaker HD merely boosted the sales to 60-80k, and we have yet to see if that is simply people who have been on the fence rather than a new market as such. I also doubt that there will be many great games for the WiiU as its hardware simply begs the question - why was the game not made in the last 7 years? And no, slapping an old franchise with a new coat of paint does not count as great (though everyone is guilty of that at the moment).

PC versions are already ahead of consoles by a long shot. The gap with BF4 on the PS4 and PC is rather huge, and this gap will only grow. In 2 years time, PC versions will be unrecognisable and due to the x86 architecture of the PS4, it means ports will be better and much, much easier to spice up.

What I want to know is will the PC come back with new mini and micro cases containing insane power for now, relatively low prices. That combined with the Ocolus Rift will give anyone a totally unique experience compared to the consoles.

I dont accept PS4 will sell the best this gen at all. It's up in the air.

I already expect X1 may sell better in NA at launch, which is a far cry from all the tales of 8-1 PS4 preorders and what not.

Which is amazing considering it's less powerful and +$100. Speaks to MS marketing might and smooth OS/Online.

Initially PS4 may do better mostly due to the lower starting price, but over a long generation it's up in the air imo.

I do agree Wii U is in a bad way though, and even 60m sounds like a pipe dream to me.

This generation hasn't even started properly and ppl are already making bold statements.

Anything can happen in the next few years.

We are seeing emergence of "PC consoles" with Steam machines. It might catch on in a few years.

Also, Apple might just decide to pack a gamepad with the next iteration of apple TV. New contender?

Maybe the Wii crowd will finally get tired of their old console and get Wii U's, since it's a good value proposition (they keep their wii games and accessories).

Also, how big will the market be? With all the late blooming of 360 and PS3, how many will be ready and willing to embrace the new generation in the next 2-3 years? Maybe none of the consoles will be able to break the 100m mark?

PC is going get a great boost I agree. The consoles sharing the very same architecture with PC, steam machines, steam OS and the like of Mantle will mark the much delayed step forward in PC gaming a reality :)

I also disagree with that point though, I enjoy online multiplayer and it is not worth that fee.

No one knows, I didnt see anyone running out when the ps3 was bombing to say it would come back. We just dont know. Steam could win it and steam OS could replace windows.... crazy but not impossible.
