After the massive adjustments for the Wii U and the Vita, almost reversing their positions in those reasons despite the fact Ive seen no evidence of a Vita sales increase...

...I dunno. I'm not buying it, particularly in Europe. The change is just too severe.

Lol the PS3 figures are enough proof this data shouldn't be trusted.

I think one thing is certain, though. Sonic Lost World is NOT a system seller, in any of the three major regions. At least not in it's debut week.

I dont know why anybody thought it would be, the 4 Sonic games on Wii each had debuts of 40-80k when u align the launches of each major region and each had lifetime sales of 1-2.5 million. Lost World appears to have a debut week of 50k+ when adding USA numbers so its tracking right there with the Wii installments.

When Iwata said system seller I dont think he meant tons of people are going to rush to buy a Wii U right when this game releases or that It will have huge first week sales. Instead I believe he meant during the holidays and early next year this game will be one of the key titles that pushes people to buying a Wii U. So maybe Sonic or Mario or Donkey Kong or Wii Party or Wind Waker or Skylanders or Just Dance or Wii Fit or Mario & Sonic Olympics is going to push significant amount of hardware alone  but combined they can make Wii U a worthwhile purchase.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

*sniff* those vita sales! I'll take em'

wiiU and vita almost up to respectable numbers and it's still pretty early in the holidays. this is going to be a fun end of the year!!

Great sales for Vita in Europe !
What happened there ? Price cut? New bundles ?

^ Can`t speak for other countries, but here in Portugal prices go from 174€ to 204€ (all prices include at least one game).

Again, it's all from Nintendo's own charts:

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=171145

Vita was higher than Wii-U in Europe in September; and higher in October.  Here, we'd been tracking Wii-U higher both months.  Either Wii-U was overtracked or Vita was undertracked.  VGChartz has decided it was both, which is also a possibility.

And keep in mind, this was right in the middle of the Wii-U's price drop.  If it couldn't outsell Vita in the month of the price drop and the following month; there's no way it's going to be outselling it come November.

Thanks for the link, must have missed that thread!

I guess that explains quite a bit then. Maybe these charts aren't wrong, and the Wii U really is still struggling and the Vita is starting to thrive (ish). That'd be good to see, in some respects anyway!

Disappointing Wii U numbers outside of Japan, though I'm not sure how accurate any of this is. Still, it's got a lot riding on Mario 3D World. Hope it can deliver.
