For the Wii U and Vita, though, these kind of milestones are more significant. A system that has for most of the year been stuck in the 3 million+ range hitting 4 million is pretty significant.

As far as this goes, though, following this thread less than a month ago, the thread amounts to "1 million more 3DS's sold, and another couple million more soon." It just feels kind of small, and with no end in sight.

Even that one, the question of when the system would hit 10 million, which is much more of a milestone, gave the thread a purpose. But now, with the milestone set at 8, asking when it will hit 9, it just feels like it's taking up space. It really was only like three weeks ago...

These threads are way more relevant than all of the threads about the resolution war lately. Hell, a simple "X console has reached Y sales milestone" thread is pretty much as relevant and straightforward as it gets. Do we need one for every milestone? Not really. But you could do a lot worse.

Certainly. I'm not complaining that they exist, but that there are so many that the milestones in question become meaningless.

Sales are actually around 8.5mil for the year, we can See sales hit 9mil week ending Nov 9th if 3DS continues to sell well!
