Forums - Sales - There are repercussions for a 720p COD Ghosts.....

I don't think the initial sales would be affecte because both consoles will sell out at launch, and sales will be most affected by supply.  However, after holidays, we'll see which system will come about in the front.

That's pretty much how it's going to be, regardless of how anyone sees it, or wants to see it.

Both will probably be sold out through the majority of Q1 2014 unless both MS and Sony are producing their consoles at unsustainable rates relative to sales with regard to initial demand. My guess would be either they both have their sales projections dialed in fairly close and have their production rates appropriately matched, or they are willing to err on the lower end of production relative to potential sales rather than ramp up initial production, only to have to dial it down in the following months. There's simply less risk involved. The worst case scenario would be to have retailers holding off on new shipments or even sending shipments back to distributer warehouses if retail sales fall well under supply.

At any rate, it will be sometime into Q2 2014 before things start to get interesting and we see how both platforms react to the inevitable post launch software drought with respect to sales.

So how will we determine which one sells better on there console. Since ps4 will probably have more units available then it shouldnt surprise no one that the ps4 ferison outsells the x1 verision but the attach rate could be higher with the x1 version then it is on the ps4 version. So do we go by just number sold or do we go by the number of consoles compared to number of copies sold

That will be a simple matter of determining attach rates. Consoles sold vs. copies sold. Although this would probably be more of a measure of the audience of each console as they are not exactly the same. If someone wants to check, I'm pretty sure CoD sells better on Xbox than the PS and I seriously doubt that trend would change for the XB1/PS4.

I'm also fairly sure that the XB1 and PS4 will be shipping similar numbers, so assuming they're both sold out through 2013, the attach rate and total number of CoD copies sold on each platform will track similarly. At least similarly enough that it would be a tough sell to say that CoD for XB1 *would have* sold better had it been 1080p like the PS4 version.

Don't care for COD I'm glad that Dead Rising 3 and Forza 5 both surpassed the 100K pre-order mark.

Any happiness for Ryse surpassing 100K in the next update?

Sure it looks a lot better then it used to.  Will wait for reviews before I put it on my list of games I consider playing in the future.

One word: price. Not of the game but that of the consoles.
