My background as a gamer, my whole childhood was Nintendo. From Nes to Gamecube. The only othetrconsole I had in between that was the PS2. I got the Wii on launch, and it just ruined everything. Nintendo did changes for the worse, imo, to many of their franchises (Zelda, Kart, SSB), and they seem to refuse to make any new IPs which is for a more "mature" (in lack of a better word) audience. This really threw me off, and I decided to jump ship to Sony.
When it comes to the WiiU, I actually think the pad is a good idea, but so far all I see coming from Nintendo is more of the same. I have moved far, far away from my friends, and the magic with Nintendo was always local multiplayer. With that aspect gone from my life, Nintendo really doesnt have anything to offer me anymore. I dont think I will ever be a hardcore Nintendo fan/customer again. I have played the WiiU, mostly NSMBU, and it was really really boring. Super Mario World was a much more memorable game really.
