I'm surprised to see that PS4 version of CoD might actually sell better than XBone version in the US. Same story with BF4.

I'm not. The PS4 has more pre-orders and better word of mouth. One gen doesn't determine the next. Everyone starts from scratch (as the PS2 to PS3 should have proven, more than anything).
