You haven't played Project CARS, obviously. It, polygon-forpolygon, has absolutely no equal. If you prefer the look, I get that, but graphically, no. Not even close. |
I doubt the console versions are going to look that good. Also since every car in FM5 has AutoVista mode each car is much more detailed since you can open all the doors and hoods and take a good look at the interior, trunk and and engine of each car. Also no one has played Project CARS yet but I wouldn't get my hopes up to high going by the developers track record.
I wouldn't have brought up the console version if I thought those pictures where from the console version. Also if the thrid picture is supposed to be the BMW M1 it looks nothing like its real life counterpart I think that Forza 3, 4 and Horizon did a better job at capturing what the car looks like in real life.
This game makes "next gen" games look silly.
Where have I seen that cone minigame before, I remember it, but not remember it on a GT game.
The Zondas look okay but that M1 looks way off it looks better in all the Forza games that feature it, my guess is they couldn't get their hands on a real one when they renderd it. As for the glossyness of the cars in Forza if you don't like them that way use them in a long race they will loose most of that shine by the end of the race it disapears even faster in Horzion just by driving a few miles.

I don't know what racing game(s) you've seen, but quite clearly, nothing tops that! |
Agreed, these models are miles better than anything on or coming to consoles. But the good thing about GT's models is they are set for life on all their new ones. So with the power of ps4 it should look like these. They might look close to this in photo mode on gt6. Forza has never gotten lighting right and I doubt they ever will. It's over the top and way blown out. Their paint is way too glossy. The only time I’ve ever seen paint that looks like that is when the clear coat is wet, and even then Forza goes way over the top.
Has the loading times improved since GT5? That's important to me... too many times I played GT5 and then after countless long loadings in the menus I played something else. I remember GT3 which I could play for hours on end but GT5 made me impatient...
Yep.
You don't know your cars that good that M1 in the 3rd picture looks way off.

Yes, load times are much shorter.
I guess you never played Forza Horizon there is nothing major wrong with the lighting in that game, it has a excellent day and night cyle the only console game I played this generation that had a better one is Red Dead Redemption. Also if you don't like the light in FM4 then race on the Top Gear Test Track it has a overcast sky. Or if you want to see some gorgeous reflections on your car use the NYC track in FM3.
