Holy shit, I didn't see that coming! These bigger adjustments usually come post-holiday, this is uncommon for vgchartz. PS3 down by over 500k, 3DS up!

3DS sales have been doubled by adjustments in past months. Couldn't tell you how VGC can mess up so badly though.

Indeed, but as a percentage of total sales the Wii U numbers were more notable. |
WiiU sales went down by around 45k-55k and 3DS adds between 270k- 330k I see 3DS more notable. Also vita adds 100k, thats more notable as well. Dont get me started on ps3 overtracking of 700k+

I just figured (rather stupidly). Won't all the adjustments to Wii-U/Vita/3DS have come from this business:
http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=171145
For example, Vita having a higher proportion of sales in Europe in October yet we were tracking Wii-U at like 24k/week after the price cut and Vita only 14k/week, which was evidently wrong.
I didn't go into too much specifics studying the numbers though. Perhaps ioi hired someone to pixelcount.

If NPD numbers cause vgchartz to retract theirs then I will gladly uncross it. I rather act sooner then later for this one because the holiday will soon be upon us and muddle things up, making it harder to determine whether its the holiday spiking WiiU sales or the pricecut. |
Yes but would you buy a WiiU when you here a great value coming in 2-3 weeks? it showed in japan. Its not like the price cut was months ago, and beside price cut did help in US.
Definetly unfair in a way!!!

The problem there is that the price cut doesn't exist in a vacuum. The impending bundles could have the same effect globally as they had in Japan, pushing sales down until their launch week.
In other words, with such a small span of time between the price cut and the bundles' release, it's impossible to say whether a sharp decline in weekly hardware sales is due to the price cut "not working" or a sign that the bundles are working.
We just saw this in Japan, where Wii U sales had averaged in the 5-10k range for several months, but dropped below 3,000 units last week only to jump to nearly 40,000 with the bundles, its highest point since the beginning of January -- and I should mention that the console did not receive the price cut in Japan.
