It is near the end of the end....

Too bad both will be used for shitty gameplay that hardly enhances the game experience

Oh I have to disagree!
I see tons of potential in tracking the controller's position and merging traditional play with motion control. As shown with Kinect V2 you could potentially lift up the controller to lift up an in game shield.
I think this was a bait thread trying to get people to call the resolutions into play, and then end up talking about that stuff again.

oh, now it makes sense. by the time you move far enough away from the tv to compensate for the 720p graphical output the kinect 2's resolution drops to well below kinect 1. now i get it.

That is true... but ultimately it's now upto MS to prove that Kinect 2 is worth having.. At the moment they have really failed to show how Kinect2 is any better than Kinect 1...and how its any better than a PS Eye.. not necessarily in terms of tech, but certainly in terms of usage.
If the PS Eye can do Voice Control, can do hand gestures... from a gaming point of view what can it do. I feel this is where MS are faltering right now, they made a decision to include kinect but havent really been that good at marketing it or actually having any software at launch that promotes it. It all feels a bit like the Wii-u Game pad... potentially a nice idea, but if they dont make games for it then no one will care for it (guss you could say the same thing happened with PS Move).
It's disappointing they don't have a raft of games out supporting it, especially as they have made such a big deal about having to include it.
I agree. Just like the difference in power between PS4 and Xbone is negligible lol.
So it is happening...PS4 preorder.
Greatness Awaits!

Although it was very risky to make Kinect mandatory, they at least know that everyone has one. Hopefully they'll make good software that will take adventage of it. I'm not even sure Sony knows there plan for the camera. |
The PS Camera might well be quite capable, but Sony certainly don't want to tell us! There is vague talk about voice commands (also avaliable through the headset), but they haven't shown anything. If it is actually capable, Sony certainly aren't making a deal of it
You do not understand the difference will be the marketing of the product. Sony will market the eye toy as hell just like they did with those of the ps2 and 3. It will sell like hot cake crushing the attach ratio of the kinect 2.0 2 to 1 at least. It will be the game changer this generation.
