Agreed. MK8 is arguably the best game on Wii U right now!

Not only is it one of the best games on the Wii U (Maybe only second to Super Mario 3D World) Its certiantly the best value right becuase you get a full free game with it!

So, you bought How to Train your Dragon 2 and a port of a $0.99 mobile game (ok, the Wii U version has more tracks) instead of MK8?

Spurge buying MK8 won't get him as much attention as buying other crap games. I think he should continue with the likes of Hello Kitty and 007 Legends. Make a new thread with each subsequent purchase and get more vgc points.

I'm surprised XB1 isn't any higher to be honest. $100 price drop is a pretty big deal.

3DS is doing okay though a big drop from DS level sales, and Wii U seems to be holding decently after MK8. Hopefully things can stay relatively stable from now on.

3DS news of 24/06/2014: Great start. Closed the tab while doing the weekly analysis, so this is second try .-. Anyway, I'll cover anything I missed while I was gone, like MK8, TL, P4Q...

• Weekly sales are in. The 3DS sold 103k units of hardware and 449k units of software! It's best selling games were: Tomodachi Life with 58k units, Pokemon XY with 43k units (it got a boost!), P4Q and Yokai Watch with 31k units (both in Japan), Kirby with 22k units, and MK7 with 17k units. Lower on the chart we find games like AC:NL, NSMB2, 3D Land and others. Meanwhile, the Wii U maintains some respectable numbers 3 weeks after MK, with 68k units of hardware, and 344k units of software. Mario Kart 8 was both the best selling Wii U game, and best selling game of the week, with 178k units, followed very lowly by NSMBU with 21k units. Then are games like NSLU, 3D World, Tropical Freeze, Nintendp Land, and Wii Party U.
• While I was gone, Mario Kart 8 reached 1.57 million units sold. Person 4 Q released in Japan, opened with 187k units, and is now 219k LTD. And Tomodachi Life released on the West, with almost 90k units sold to date, and 1.80 million units sold Worlwide!
• Sadly, Mr. Iwata had a surgery. He's very healthy, but has to miss a business meeting.
• In the indies department, Altura is now a Nintendo dev. And Shovel Knight releases in 1 day!!!!!!!
• [*ROUMOR*] Amiibos will be expensive.
• Castlevania 3 releases on the 3DS VC soon!
• The DS Lite is now 8 years old in Europe!
