Oh, right, so he meant 30 million units actuall, makes sense now. 

EDIT: Wii U seemed to sell around 9 million units of software in 2013, so 2014 numbers should be at 18 million. My mistake. 

EDIT 2: lol Ok, data is for the whole continent, and since Reggie doesn't specify the region, we can't tell for sure the real numbers :p



My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

They always do adjustments. But it's by month, not by week, so for all we know the majority of the sales could have come the week after. Which is why I prefaced it with "Going by VGchartz"

Well it is a moment for when he speak for the company as a whole on a global basis so it applies.

Indeed, he did, but we still can see how Reggie not only speaks US numbers, but can also speak about Worldwide numbers.

Unless he is speaking for the whole company that is, which I say once again, seems to  be the case in the interview where he mentioned the 40% of Wii U hardware sales. 

I guess we only have 2 chances to know, either in the Game Party Japan 2015 with them announcing 9 million or 10 million Wii U sold, or we wil have to wait till January 28, 2015 for the 3rd Quarter Earnings release, and work it out from there.

It's a shame those Amiibo numbers are fake. I'd like to be able to actually, you know, get firm numbers at some point.
