Is this really considered false advertising?
I mean...why don't companies just always do this? It's not like there's a penalty for it.

There are. Square Enix was sued for advertising the Xbox360 version of FFXIII exclusively in the US but but used photoshoped footage of PS3 version in their commercials. They lost that suit and had to pay a hefty fine.

Link?

doesn't matter....haven't you heard? no one can see the difference between 720p and 1080p

I fail to see the issue here, considering that a lot of publishers including Sony use improved footage for their products.

Just another thing to start a fight about I guess.

Cannot seem to find the Thread I originally made about this or any articles that are easily accessible about the situation but here....

I could have sworn I read that there were fines that came along with them being forced to stop using the advertising.

So, even MS is ashamed of their product. That's pretty dishonest.

Well, lost in the depths of the internet. SE admit it though.

The best comment is saying that marketing teams can't tell the difference between the versions... but they curiously choose the best looking each time... well what to say, when they think PS4 games are Xbone exclusives?

Would anyone like a cup of hot cocoa?

This isn't even an ad for battlefield 4, it's an ad for a bf4 competition. Whoopdey do, 6 seconds of gameplay in an 80 second video talking about a tournament, and half of those 6 seconds were just cutscenes anyways...
