You know Microsoft fans are in the minority when very niche games get more votes than Halo. ^_^

Nice work btw :)

Wow didnt even vote and all the games I wouldnt voted for still preform well... yep feeling mainstream, le sigh

Let's see if the hype for Wii U games translates into real world success for the platform. Hopefully it does.

Look at all you mainstream gamers. ^^

Thanks for the work, Salnax. Now I'm curious about that something special you're planning to do.

Only 1 of my voted games is in the top 10. Does it mean that I'm not mainstream? Also, I don't get the hype for SMW3D. Sorry but the game hasn't made that "click" on me so I'm not interested.

We'll see if the delay of Watch Dogs kills its hype or not.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Because it's not exactly a secret: that something special is a thread devoted to comparing the entire year's worth of monthly results, with an emphasis on the rise and fall of platforms. Also expect to see the most popular platforms of the year, line charts, stuff about major publishers, the most anticipated games of all 2013, and a cute picture of a kitten I saw the other day.

But now you ruined the surprise!

So, we'll see The Last of Us and how PS3 points fell after its launch and things like that? Ok.

Yes. I'm also combining all the monthly charts to determine the most anticipated games of all year. I only have 11 out of the 12 months necessary at the moment, but I got started anyway. Some fun tidbits based on current data straight from Excel.

*Over 3,600 valid votes were cast, for a total of over 11,000 points from January to November editions. Assuming points fall a fair amount due to the release of so many major titles in November, we can expect just shy of 12,000 points for the whole year.

*Nintendo is the #1 publisher, with a bit over 30% of the point total for obvious reasons. Sony is a fairly close, at about 21%. This is largely thanks to The Last of Us being the biggest game of the first half of the year, but games like Infamous, Beyond: Two Souls, Soul Sacrifice, God of War: Ascension, and the two Killzones played a big part as well. Microsoft is only a bit over 1%, with Gears of War: Judgement being the only big 1st party 360 game and Halo 5 being the only big 1st party Xbox One game to chart. Long story short, 1st party games make up the majority of points, not even counting 3rd party exclusives like Sonic: Lost World for the Wii U, Starcraft on the PC, Titanfall for the One, various RPG's for the PlayStation, etc.

*The PS3 was the biggest platform of 2013, with 30% of points, followed by the Wii U with about 21%, then the 3DS with 14%, then the PS4 with 13%, then the PC with 9%. The 360, One, and Vita had a lesser number of points, while the PSP, Wii, and iOS had a pitiful number of points.

*I'm dealing with over a data points, since I have to combine games from various months. Wish me luck!

3DS is going to shrink badly after this month. Only Capcom discussing an MH4 release could do anything to raise hype (a well-announced MH4 localization could climb to my number 4)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

That Persona 5 one is mine lol
