Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft might get away with weak hardware and still sell well because of other stuff and that makes me sad...

First off, minor differences, not substantial.  Let's not stretch things more than they are or over react like people already have.

And i certainly dont think XBO will sell the most but I do want to show you this.

Wii - 100m sold
PS2 - 150m sold

Both were the weakest console.

Don't forget Dreamcast pls

QFT.

I would personally argue how huge a factor GT3 (Gran Turismo 3, just to confirm that wasn't a typo) was in selling the PS2 on the basis there was nothing else like it on any other platform at the time.

Yes, I'm breaking the whole "PS2 only sold because of GTA and DVD" fourth wall...

Personally I bought 2 PS2's and ONLY used it for GTA games. Why 2? (disk read error) why did I not end up playing other exclusives? (disk read error)

Both of my ps2 systems ended up with disk read errors in less than a month.....it was enough time to beat vice city and gta3 so I didn't buy anymore of those time bombs.

^Yes that's me ripping it up in the GIF. :)

Apple sells overpriced hardware, just as Samsung.

And hardware is not everything, there is "ecosystem", the services, the usability, and so on.

Not a novelty.

If people care for resolution, just buy/build a PC, and upgrade it every six months.

families get satisfied with a Wii u, i doubt they get satisfied with an xbox

Why not? I know a lot of people that chose Wii or Xbox for their families because of the games available. Games like Kinectimal, Kinect Sports, Disney Adventure, Dance Central, Your Shape Fitness etc are more family oriented than let's say, Killzone or Infamous. And all you need is to buy the games no need to buy additionnal devices. It's easyier to use Kinect than holding something for fitness and dancing games... there's a lot of good reasons for families to own an X1.

You can play all that and in better quality on the wii u, also wii u has more kid friendly games.

Besides most of the stuff is just a copy of what nintendo did.

I think a lot of casual are satisfied with their kinect 1 and are not interested for Kinect 2 so i don't think they will buy a xbox one.
Ps2 destroy their comititor because of games not because is weaker and wii sold well because of Casual

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

The most powerful console of each generation has never ever ever been the top seller.

Look at what the more powerful consoles were though. Either they were the most expensive (sometimes way overpriced), beaten to the punch by a console that was already highly successful, or had no previous history in the industry. The PS4 is the most powerful and is not the most expensive, was not beaten to the punch by a successful console (relatively speaking), and has a brand history.

well, GC was more powerful and cheaper than PS2, didn't stop it from selling only 20m units though...

Indeed, and PS360 sales will end up on par with Wii's, so what does that mean?

Power on any level means jack shit when it comes to winning.

Only historically for the industry has power not appeared to matter because it was never the "most powerful" that won. However, that doesn't mean power didn't have a part to play. The Super NES was more powerful than the Genesis from what I remember and thus was able to have games the Genesis couldn't match. The Xbox may not have even sold as many consoles as it did if it didn't have the power to run games the PS2 couldn't. Same goes for the PS3 versus its competition. So if the PS4 being the most powerful means it can run games that the other two cannot (which won't really happen versus X1 until down the road) then that power could very well be a big factor. Being the most powerful is never an actual disadvantage. It only is if the price reflects it.

I'm honestly not sure what you're getting at by disclosing this.

I like Nintendo most of all and I have a Wii U which I also love but I have a 360 and Kinect and all I can say is that most of your statement is completely wrong.  As a Nintendo fan, let's just let the Sony/Microsoft crowd fight amongst themselves.  We can pick the bones of the survivor.

I find this hard to believe, and RROD says hi.

Really... lol... Nintendo came up with the Wiimotes and MS came up with Kinect, both are very successful but I see Kinect selling better in the end and might get more support from 3rd devs. I plan on buying a WiiU sometime because I want that Bayonnetta2 but for the whole family I think Kinect has it already and will get better with X1.
