I've been a fairly vocal critic of the system from the get go, but I had some hope that Nintendo could eek it out.

But once I saw December numbers from last year, I could tell the system was not going the right way. There were alarm bells going off then, but I think a lot of Nintendo fans just chose to go into denial mode.

It's not fair to put all the pressure on Mario 3D World to salvage this mess. The Wii U already has a 4-player Mario platformer, so it's not even like 3D World has the benefit of standing out and being completely unique (when 3D Land came out there were no other Mario games on the system).

Mario 3D World deserves better than the Wii U.

FYI, Snowdog was the user who claimed the Wii U would have a userbase above 8 million after year's end, this was only a week or so ago.

And a couple weeks before he claimed that he claimed it would sell over 10 million.... Zero999 also gave the 10mil figure recently too (id say about a month ago... maybe month and a half)

66k with NA being close to 30k hen NPD just showed it being less than half of that weekly last month? Yeah... expect those to be adjusted by about 20k.

I think that you are forgetting that NSMBU bundle (which was released for only 2 days during october NPD) and the usual holiday boost. Stop trying to act like a 100% boost with a new bundle+holiday boost is impossible.

Explain me then why are every single gaming system up in % in the US and in Europe? Is it just a magical week? Oh yea, because the holiday boost BEGINS in the first 1-2weeks of November. Obviously, the boost will be much bigger on black friday and in december, but this holiday boost is definetly present at the moment. And do you have a link stating that the majority of the sales of that NSMBU bundle were in the first 2days? Please link me.

Look, I understand no one wants to see the console they enjoy get a downward adjustment but when It's obviously overtracked (NPD + Nintendo's shipments) then there really is no choice but to adjust.
