Oh man, Final Fantasy XIII's OST is my favourite of all time. Crisis Core's was incredible too.

Still can't beat Terra's theme, sorry.

Sure they can, and they did in FF6 with the final field theme

I don't doubt you, but I haven't played those games. I doubt they can reach Xenoblade though. It's by far my favourite soundtrack! I still doubt though that those games can be enough to push square down from the vg music throne.

Xenoblade has my favorite soundtrack, too. And is one of the reasons why I think Square-Enix recent efforts (music and otherwise) are falling behind.

I can't say much about SE's recent efforts, but back in the day they sure knew how to do it. But they never made a game thatalone had a better soundtrack than Xenoblade.

Snowy Valak Mountain - Night is probably my favourite.

That's a good one. But if there's one S-E that can touch Xenoblade's soundtrack, it's Chrono Trigger.

This one trumps it

You know what all three games have in common? Mitsuda.

Best RPG composer ever.

I listened to the first three songs you posted and i have to say i so entirely disagree with you about those. I heard generic crap... sorry.

I do however cherish a lot of the music Squaresoft used, even most of FFX's soundtrack is great to listen to.

Your in the minority with that opinion...this is actually the first time I've heard anyone say anything bad about Simple and Clean or Sanctuary, most people love them.

I love Square Enix!!!!!!!!!!!

If this was 10 years ago this threat would be valid.

BTW, Falcom's Sound Team JDK Band's soundtracks for the Ys series shits all over anything Squeenix has ever done.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Have you heard the quality of music in their recent games?  I know people like to hate on FF13 for any reason they can find but the music was great and all the music we've heard for FF15 so far has been excellent.  Even look at This Silnce Is Mine in the OP.

Sqauresoft* I would! I tattooed their best game on my chest I loved it so much.

SqaureEnix I wouldn't go anywhere near a tattoo gun with any of their games.

It's good, but it's not really my cup of tea.  I'm partial to the classic MIDI stuff of the 8-16 bit eras.  Super Mario RPG is one of my fav soundtracks of all time, and definitely my fav from Squeenix, followed closely by Chrono Trigger, FFVI and Secret of Mana.
