Forums - Gaming - PS4 has the Superior Version of Battlefield 4

Changed the thread title to be indicative of what is really going on. While I firmly believe that 99% of multiplats will be better looking on the PS4, judging that from one single game and saying "confirmed" is a bit premature.

OT: Just watched the digital foundry comparison and just like I thought there is a slight difference in favor of the PS4 but it's negligible and doesn't change a thing for me.

DF capture was wrong... both games didn't look like what they showed.

I made a account just to say. I will not buy ps4 because of its online community. Was going to until the last few months of non-Stop chest pounding and fist waiving. Yet the difference is a joke and from the video I saw ps4 looks worse. No matter ryse looks by far the best so far.

I'm so happy you won't

What's funny is a lot of people feel the same.  Thanks for confirming my decision again. 2 of my friends jumped shop too, So keep being rude.

Confirmed:
stronger hardware
outperforming on software according to DF
Free games with their subscription
A full hundred dollars less
10$ less for the yearly subscription
Didn't try to completely fuck your consumer rights

"I don't like the ps fans"

You yourself are the only reason you don't like playstation fans. Do yourself a favor and go play Ryze before you go and buy a system just to play it. I think you'll find yourself rather underwhelmed. If there was one game I'd get a x1 for it's titanfall....and that's on 360 already, and will be on ps4 eventually anyway.

Can someone please explain why the Xbox One version looks so overly dark? It's like they put a filter on and turned the contrast way up. It looks so....cartoony.

The PS4 version in comparison looks natural and realistic.

PS4 version looks "worse" here.

I gotta say, reading through this thread was hilarious. If this game signifies the incredible gap in power that many on these boards have been proclaiming for months... lulz.

By the way should probably edit in "console version" to the thread title since the PC version of this game still blows everything else away.

XB1 has clearer textures and has Bloom lighting where as the PS4 didnt have Bloom lighting on the cop cars and the Textures are blurrier. PS4 does run at a higher res but honestly who cares about this right? They both look generaly the same. There is no 50% more power from PS4 like people stand to beleive.

It's like being a guy and meeting a girl that's more beautiful than any girl you've ever seen before and not being satisfied because there's another guy out there with another girl that looks almost the same except her fingernails are painted. I LOVE IT! You guys are so entertaining! You know what would be hilarious? If Digital Foundry or IGN came out and said "April Fools! We were just messing with ya. All of the PS4 shots were actually from the Xbox 360 and all of the Xbox One pics were actually from the PS3". We would all flip-flop opinions so hard we'd break our necks.

And just think--this is just one multi-plat game on the two consoles and they haven't even launched yet. THEY HAVEN'T EVEN LAUNCHED YET. We have years of this to look forward to! It's going to be great!

DF botched the caputre... it is not like both games look.

About PC the sites are reporting that you can't tell the difference bettwen the PC and PS4 version... and there some effects in PS4 version not found in PC.

"Both PS4 and Xbox One versions are sights to behold having spent eight years with current-gen platforms, but in their current states, neither can topple the PC's crown at ultra settings - instead coming in closer to its high setting. Cutbacks have been made, including lower resolution alpha used for water and fire effects. The PC also achieves unnoticeable level-of-detail (LOD) streaming as we run across the battlefield, while grass tufts and rocks still visibly fizzle into view on next-gen platforms. Lighting and bloom take a knock too in the step from PC, and it's apparent that individually lit particle effects are used more liberally in like-for-like cut-scenes. The gap is there, but as it turns out, this is all for the greater good of performance."

And the difference in resolution and framerate come from thin air? Damn PS4 is a magic machine!

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!
