Why would the screen need protecting?

The PSPs screen doesn't have any protection? Nor do most mobile phone screens

I wouldent like this . Sony needs a solid hardware , but in the same time it needs a cheap one to . And this one wouldent be one ...

I'm actually not a fan of the design :/ it looks entirely too much like that one version of the Gameboy. Motorolla recently had a phone that you cant quite purchase in the US that had a touch screen pannel, and another transparent clam shell that went over it, I think something of that sort would be really cool. I do dig the concept of covering the buttons and all, but they can do it differently :P

 That is why I have invested in a hard case for my PSP, the screen is so beautiful and a scratch would really muck it up. It gets covered in fingerprints anyway.

The iPhone/iPod Touch doesn't have protection for its screen and people don't seem to be complaining about that. And if the shoulder buttons are angled in, they would be quite useful. I think the PSP2 needs to lose the UMD and adopt a look like this. Of course, such a design does focus the platform on movie watching and other multimedia features since the game controls are 'hidden', but the overall look is quite nice. Add a touch screen and it could take on the iPod Touch. Add built-in Skype and look out iPhone.

That's a very sexy looking PSP. I just don't think I would put it in my pocket.
