Forums - General - Tell me 3 great things and 3 shit things about your COUNTRY

For some reason I want to add a poll...

Why the fuck is this thre... 43 39.09%

I like reading "non... 42 38.18%

Click** if you want to stimulate Pezus 24 21.82%

Total:109

Great things:

- People have plenty of free time. In fact, over 25% of the population have 100% of free time due to unemployment.

- Soon to be one of the countries with the cleanest air in Europe, because only politicians, football players and Emilio Botín will have enough money to buy a car.

- World leading country in nighttime solar energy production the last decade.

- La Macarena. I know it was only three great things, but I couldn't skip this.

Shit things:

I can't think of anything...

Country: Eastern Visigodia, AKA the country formerly known as Spain.

Around the Network

USA: (Bad)
Obesity rate
Politicians (Republican and Democrat)
Tens of millions of people on food stamps etc.....
USA: (Good)
Food
Diversity
Opportunity

The Netherlands:

The Good:
- Liberal; the people are (mostly) laid back, nobody judges you, and smoking weed is legal.
- You can bike literally everywhere within the country, as there are bike lanes everywhere. (I biked through the province of Limburg over the summer and even accidentally ended up in Belgium and Germany a couple of times.) Public transport is also extensive and easy to use. No need for a car, really.
- I enjoy the country side; cows; quaint, small cities; polders; windmills; tulips; etc. Some may find it boring but I think it's Tolkien. Cute and whimsical. :P

The Bad:
- If you want to do any thing at night, there's not much to do. Even in Amsterdam a lot of shops close early. The exception being clubs, of course.
- Pixar movies are pushed back and only released on Chirstmas... and extra six months!? Bah!
- Lately, the conservative anti-islam thoughts in politics.

Oh, yes, and everybody speaks English. No worries about not speaking the throat-diseased Dutch.

Australia:

Good
- Beautiful land with lots of space
- Excellent living standards
- Great healthcare system

Bad
- Homophobic, sexist Prime Minister
- Prevalent racism
- Terrible environmental practices. We sure love to destroy our beautiful home...

Agree with the Good, except for health. In recent times its all about numbers now. Doctors have quotas to fill not care for patients. However compared to most the world it is still pretty good overall.

The bad

1. I think he just conforms with the general public (ie religious groups majority). His sister is gay, if he hated them so much he wouldn't go near her lol.

2. Agreed, we are pockets of multinational countries and not multi cultural.

3. Don't agree, look at Tasmania can't develop anything there as every tree is protected lol.

My bad would be.

1. too many dole bludgers who don't want to work. we should have some sort of work for the dole scheme.

2. too many goverment jobs wasting money.

3. Not enough future planning, it is all about NOW governements and not the future of Australia. Once the moning boom ends thing will get interesting.

I find it amazing how the UK people seems to complain about their welfare system. Having a generous welfare system is a good thing guys...

About my country of birth:

Portugal

Good:
- Looks like paradise.
- People are in general very nice.
- The women are beatiful in general.

Bad:
- politicians
- taxes
- economy

The country i live in:

Netherlands

The good:
- a special someone.
- not in a huge financial crisis (not as bad as portugal at any rate).
- work pays really well, even at minimum wage.

The bad:
- so much lol. The forceful health ensurance that doesnt pay for your doctor appointments, basically incentivating the population not to go to the hospital and dieing at home.
- The forceful and unpaid service of separating the trash and keeping it at your home until its pick up time. Besides the fact you need to pay for the trash you throw out aswell (on top of standard city hall fees).
- The people in general arent very helpful.
- The limited variety on food supplies.
- No pizza hut!

France :

Good things :

- Beautiful girls (and I mean Really beautiful) I've travelled quite a lot and without any doubt my french sisters are up to the myth.

- Our country is beautiful. Green landscape, plain, beautiful city, architecture, most beautiful castle in the world... We have them all.

- Best food. I think I don't have to talk about it. You all know who the kings are. Plus French food is the most healthy you'll find with Japanese food.

Bad things :

- Bad behavior, arrogant and teasing. : If you're a foreigner, you'll probably find us very arrogant and unconfortable. And worst thing is, you'll be right. Even American can't compete with us. Feel yourself a little too much, and you'll be reduce in the next second. Like Frenchie beautiful girls, french critisism and sharp tongue are not a myth at all. We really ARE that bad. Even against eachothers...

- Thug violence : If you don't know how to defend yourself or how to run fast, forget France. I'm born in France, I've lived in almost every big city and i can insure you you'll find the worst violent people here. Those people have no honour and will slap you in the street just for the sake of it. They don't care if you're old, a woman or a 7 year child. Especially if you're a stranger or fat or bad dressed... France is really this unforgiving.

- Salary and life cost : If you don't have money or a really great degree, forget it.

You're spot on about the lack of future planning. Every side of politics and economics seems to only think a year or two in front of their face.

The majority of the country is actually for marriage equality, so Abbott's not representative of the nation. The fact that he refuses to budge on the issue despite his own sister wanting to get married to her girlfriend is, in my humble opinion, quite revolting.

Environment wise, at least here in Victoria, huge amounts of old growth forest, which a lot of native animals need to survive, (young trees don't have enough hollows for them to shelter in and raise young) is being chopped down just to sell as cheap woodchips to Japan.

Speaking of which, apparently some of our redback spiders stowed away in woodchips and became a pest there, haha.

Norway:

Great things:
CASH!!!!
Good healthcare and school system.
It beautiful!

Bad:
Paperwork
Taxes
The government (It's pretty much corrupt).

I reckon he will change his mind, it was just to get in to government. There is still alot of old generation who are opposed to it. Anyhow we shall see.

Yer I live in Victoria now, in the CBD lol. Didn't realise they where chopping trees for woodchips, figured they be for building homes with. As for the red backs i'm sure some crazy japanese resurant wil find a way to eat the poison, just enough to give you a tingle and not enough to kill you, kind of liek the blow fish haha.

     Romania

1 ( Good). The landscapes ( specially the mountains) are simply breath taking. You simply need to see Brasov and Sibiu's landscapes. Simply amazing.

2 ( Good). Laws regarding  prostitution, child pornography and  illegal drug trading are REALLY harsh. Specially regarding prostitution. Some people even went to jail for 15 years.

3( Good ). The women are really beautiful.. A good chunk of them love to act dumb, but the majority are both beautiful and smart.

1 ( Bad). Salary is shit unless you are into IT and things regarding business.

2( Bad). The capital is ( sadly) VERY dirty. It's full of trash/ dog shit and it's a shame since Bucharest is a huge city with tons of locations to visit.

3 ( Bad). The government is as corrupt as it can get in an European  country sadly.
