Forums - Gaming - Pre-launch Interest In Sony PS4 Is Twice Higher Than Xbox One

Nobody likes a one sided fight. Good luck, Xbox One. Win or lose, it's my next gen console of choice....after the Wii U.

Second half of the penultimate paragrpaph sums it up well. Early adopters are fans...

Who knew Playstation had more vociferous and loyal fans that will jump in early? Shocker.

The long game is very different.

Like this gen showed?

''Jumping in early'' was the only reason Xbox stayed competitive for as long as it did.

That's not really accurate. Vociferous and loyal fans were the ONLY reason the PS3 didn't cease to exist. Do you remember the first 18 months of the PS3's life? It was the most expensive. It's biggest early titles were mostly delayed for long periods (i.e. GT5, KZ2) or terrible disappointments (i.e. Lair, Haze). All Multiplats were superior on the 360, and PSN was a pale shadow of Xbox Live. While the 360 had more early adopters, the fact that literally EVERY gamer didn't go 360 first was due solely to Sony's loyal fanbase. Sony more than made up that ground as the generation continued - no question. But let's face it, if the PS4 hadn't been riding a wave of loyalty, it would have been left adrift.

Yet it had Blu Ray (ba FAR the cheapest), free online, and games like Uncharted, Heavenly Sword and the freaking MGS4. PSN was nothing to write home about but the online play worked pretty well. And multiplat difference wasnt anything too major. Dont pretend like PS3 had no appeal at all during Nov 06-Jun0 08

You named 3 games worth playing on the PS3 over the course of it's first 18 months. MGS4 was released a full year and a half after the system. That's exactly the point I'm trying to make. If you didn't care about uncharted or heavenly sword, there was no reason to get a PS3 until 2008.

Defending early PSN and multiplat quality is..... making my point for me. 360 had nearly every advantage (except Bluray) but loyalists like yourself would look for reasons to favor the PS3 when it had nothing on the 360 for the first 2 years.

Or it might be because Playstation has far more Japanese games than Xbox has.  If one console had most of the titles I was interested it while the other only had a few, I would go with the former.

I don't really understand this need to blame something so obvious on, "but the Japanese don't like American stuff!"  The same Japan that has like 1,000 KFC restaurants?

You've only to look at the fact that some of the more popular third-party games in Japan are only on Playstation to understand why this has happened.  Maybe you can blame third party publishers for not putting everything on the 360 but there probably isn't much gain in that, from their view.

The Japanese LOVE American 'stuff'. They don't love a lot of american produced tech, though.

If you recall the early days of the 360, MS broke the bank to secure exclusive JRPGs and thing sliek Ace Combat in order to appeal to japanese gamers. In the end, gamers there mostly stayed local to a japanese brand, and didn't bite. MS didn't make the right move. The right move would have been to ignore japan and focus on Europe.

There's also Ratchet and Clanks, as well as Resistance FOM and Motorstorm and of course Warhawk :)

Together with Blu Ray playback, free online and superior hardware, PS3 defintely had the appeal and bigger value of Xbox 360. Heck, if all Sony loyalists from PS2 era bought PS3 in first 18 monts, PS3 would sell 30 million in that time :)

Also, I bought a PS3 in Jan 2009. Hardly an early adoptation

When you factor in Europe and Japan... PS4 will take this gen with ease.

...said no gamer ever!!

Did you know ps4 only supports a 2.4 wireless signal?

The xbox one supports a wireless adapter capable of 2.4 - 5.0ghz.

The ONLY next gen console to do so.

^^most of the internet is made up by sony fanboys. Any polls created will always be on PS side. They make up the majority of the internet.

Oh, I'm sure. They just run the net. No way people may just want the PS4 more than the X1, right?

Really?

Go into any gaming site and watch a video of an xbox one exclusive.

Then go down to the comments section.

See how many bad posts they have.

Then do the same for a ps4 exclusive game.

You will see the difference.

I've seen it on twitter, youtube, neogaf, on here, gametrailers, ign, gamespot. They are everywhere. I guess you dont see them because you are just another one of them. Ethomaz is a huge Microsoft hater in here.
