@Carl, what part of pezus' post is a lie? Because Kowenickis thread was definitly lock worthy as flamebait. However, the more simple and happier solution would to have just eduted the title

@classicgamingwizz
This has been enforced before this thread. But only wgen someone went overboard and crossed the flaming line. This now just broadens it to offtopic nonsense which will include more people. I love it

kow wasnt banned for the thread, kow was banned for this post in the thread.
And no, the thread wasnt flamebait. It was a legit question. In the OP he even said it may or may not be an issue and asked someone who could speak French to clarify what was going on. If people see that as flamebait, just because it was kow who posted it, then they seriously need to step away from teh console warz for a week or two and take a long look in the mirror.
And the thread was actually locked because of the conversation in the thread itself. Not because of the OP.

To be fair, it is easy to consider threads like Kowenicki's as flamebait, when you know the history of the thread creator.
In this case, it wasn't. But you can't blame people for feeling like it was [because of his history]. Lots of people create those kinds of threads with an agenda. In this case, I don't think Kowenicki had one. But I think if he'd be a little more inclined to give Sony its due when the company does well, and not be so harsh when it doesn't (you know how he comments in his sarcastic way...), people wouldn't see him the same as they do right now.

Yeah, you can blame people. If they werent so sensitive about a piece of plastic that plays videogames then they wouldnt be so quick to jump all over kows nuts for posting something potentially negative in the Sony forums.

His post in the thread that stemmed from his flamebait thread. Therefore he was indirectly banned for the thread.
Being legit and flamebait isnt exclusive to each other. Hypothetically, I could make a thread and ask why X1 is a shitty console and it be a legit question (yes, its exaggerated to highlight my point and no one would dare say thats not flamebait). Second sentance in your second paragraph defines exactly why it was flamebait. A. thread title states issue with Ps4 hardware. B. OP doesn't know what was said in the video and asks for translation (how did he decide on the title if he doesnt know the contents of his OP). C. states in OP most likely SW bug (but then why say HW issue in title?) Pure and simple flamebait. Text book example.
Locked because of the conversation in the thread due to it being flamebait.

If you're going to play the 'it's just videogames why do you care so much' card, then it's a two-way street. I think being so invested in one company that you constantly take digs at or try to spread fud about its competitor, so much so that you create threads solely for that purpose, implies a heavier investment in the thing than the average drive-by 'kill the messenger' type comment in the actual thread.
But I don't think it's a valid argument in the first place, because you're on a videogames messageboard telling people to not care so much about videogames.

No he wasnt indirectly banned for the thread, dont try spin it. He was banned specifically for bringing up ethomaz and Turkish. The post he replied to was flamebait and he took that bait. Its fairly simple.
Thread title didnt state an issue. Thread title was questions. He never once said it was an "issue" with PS4 hardware, he was asking if it was an apparent problem with the hardware... He was asking a question and wanted someone who understood it to clarify. When he got the answer he wanted he was fine with it. It was after he got the answer from a French guy that people carried on baiting him.
A was answered above.
B, you can easily make a thread title like that if you watch the actual video where there appears to be a problem with the hardware.
C, he said nothing about a HW issue in the title... He said "PS4 video shows apparent problem?". The word "hardware" or "HW" isnt in the thread title or OP and the "overheating" part of it all comes from the title of the video itself. Did you even read the thread?

The people who do what you described are generally just trolls looking for the reaction they get. They laugh at it. They dont really care much about the industry or videogames in general at all. They do it for the laughs and to wind the "other fanbase" up. It works.
This is a different case because it was a legit question where kow did nothing wrong at all. He was attacked by the PS gang simply because hes an Xbox guy. Thats it. No other reason. He wasnt trolling. He wasnt looking to get a reaction. He was curious about what was happening in a video and he was wanting a French guy to tell him what was going on in said video.
Im telling people not to care so much that they have to constantly attack another user simply because he posted a potentially negative thread.

If he wasn't banned for the thread, he should have been then. His intentions was not informed nor to help but to say we ( xbox fans) had to deal with negative threads, why not Sony. And he got called out for it.

To say those were his intentions would be an assumption. You cant moderate based on assumptions.
