Most of the time he is spinning/lying/downplaying (but he is still a decent poster when it comes to anything other than sony) if vitas bump is "just okay" then wii us must be out right fucking horrid. Considering Wii U only topped about 30k in 2 regions and vita doubled it.

It's base was more of 10-15k. Just saying with all the colours and the new model it ain't that impressive. I agree that comparing it to the PSP isn't a great example but it ain't faring well with the PS3 either. Its base will probably go down to around 15k-20k max.. It doesn't look great tbh, hopefully the few games releasing will change that.

Btw, compared with the 3DS price drop and the 3DS LL releases, Vita looks even more unimpressive.

I'm sure if the Vita was going from 25000yen to 15000 yen instead of 20000yen, its sales would look impressive also (speaking of price cut)

I hope Nintendo cut their losses with the Wii U and let it die in Japan. Use the money they save to promote it more heavily in the U.S and Europe where it still has a fighting chance.

selective memory, recent history hasnt been anhything like that.  see my post above.

3.5k were sales for the prior week, so going from that to 60k is indeed impressive.  Maybe you need to fact check your own post.  The new vita model was announced on September 9th, not in August.  Vita sales took a drastic dip right after obon, despite new software, so it was inevitable that weekly would suffer and looking at last years numbers (for this week vita only sold ~5k), it was a good move all around for Sony, especially in the face of fierce competetion on the 3DS side with two multimillion sellers in the same time period.

Well, I'll admit defeat. Vita surpised me and as did 3DS HW, where the former is positive and the latter negative.

Despicable Nintendo. Wii U is doing horribly. Hopefully bundles will help by end of Oct.
Vita did amazingly well. I am pleasantly surprised. Might be the first holiday season where it will do decent numbers :)
3DS going to 3DS.
Pokemon going to Pokemon :P
All in all great week

Heres a better hint. Fact check his numbers. Not hard to do just go look at japan charts. Start off in first week of june when it was sub 10k. Then look at software sales and hardware boosts. Heres another good source. Weekly japan chart threads and read the replies of how bad of shape psv is in during those times
