Forums - Nintendo - VD-Dev "pushing the 3DS to its limits"

I'm amazed Shin'en are still independent. Iridion 2 alone should have been enough to convince Nintendo they were onto a good thing. Let alone Nanostray etc >_

so Shin'en makes an F-Zero for WiiU and VD-Dev makes Metroid Prime Hunters 2 for 3DS/a new FPS IP for WiiU.

take my money.

You'd be surprised how much more a few guys with passion can do than an entire studio of minions with no self respect of the quality of their output. :)

They clearly have a thing for pushing hardware to it's limits. They even wrote their own engine for the 3DS. Imagine what a bit of money and access to dedicated tools could do for them with Wii U :)

Nintendo should outright buy Shin'en and VD-Dev and then merge the!

With their big focus on indy this gen I reckon it's not too far fetched to think they'll take a few of the ones who shine under their wing.
I'd much rather see them expanding such studios than merging them though. Give Shin'en another couple years so they can release some more games and gain experience, increasing their development team slowly and eventually give them Star Fox and F-zero to reboot.

damn fine.

Late GameCube/Early Xbox 360 graphics? It may very well be more technically competent than most Vita games (but certainly not all).

I'd have gone with more early GameCube graphics (Eternal Darkness, TimeSplitters 2 etc.) Certainly not 360 unless it was a sub standard port from the previous gen.

Technically? Not unless Nintendo releases a new more powerful successor to the 3DS and the game gets shifted onto that.

Saleswise? it's an E-shop release so doubt we'd ever get true figures, but if it found a good audience on 3DS, KillZone hasn't sold great so far (couple of hundred thousand inc digital downloads atm) so it certainly wouldn't be an impossibility.
