I am so excited for The Order: 1886, I'm expecting great things. I think Ready at Dawn will join the ranks of Sony Santa Monica, Naughty Dog & Media Molecule as Sony's best developers, although they're not actually owned by Sony... yet.

to be honest,. i read the words and said "huh?". that video is cool though so if the order is using that kind of physics it could be really neat.

While I only played a demo of RE6, it wasn't as fun or tight as the previous two games. I don't remember a lot of reviewers or players that actually enjoy the RE4 formula being all that high on it either. But as someone that played RE4 and 5 a TON and all 3 GeoW games a ton as well, this looks less like GeoW and more like the aforementioned titles. We'll have to wait to see more gameplay vids to get a better idea of where it falls. For the record, I'm not trying to trash the game. Those scans look quite fantastic. I'm just trying to show the type of muted feelings we all should show at this early stage. Hope the game turns out well, as I like TPS's far better than FPS's. |
The cover-mechanic is what makes me think more Gears than RE. I just do not see 'Resident Evil' when I look at this game and read about how it plays. For what little information we have. Both Gears and RE are third-person, over-the-shoulder perspective games anyways. If people really do hate it in RE but love it in Gears, then that's not only worthy of its own topic as to why but also shows that the perspective can very much be enjoyed. In my experience people don't hate RE for the perspective as much as they didn't like how the series progressed after RE4 for all their own reasons and the people who said they didn't like RE4's perspective mostly said it was because it didn't feel like RE, not because there was anything actually wrong with it.
That being said, I certainly understand you're not trashing the game. If I came off as thinking you were, my apologies. I do agree that we should be cautiously optimistic at best right now. Damn though, those screens....

All third person shooters are gears of war clones confirmed? |
seems like nobody realize such TPS view are started from RE4...
The one guy sounds like Javier Bardem
I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.

8 years later and that game still looks beautiful

Wonder if you can switch between characters.
