as much as i hate the idea, vita will be the first sony hardware to be a failure, and my post is coming from someone who has a vita, ps3 and future owner of ps4, still hoping for a come back though

Probably not, but it could be a profitable niche console, 30 million+ sales, N64 area of success.

I certainly feel i get more than enough fun for the price i paid, i certainly would recommend it to anyone that asks, although PS plus is the best reason to get one.

For a dead system, it sure is seeing quite a bit of support.

Just for the next 2 months off the top of my head we got Tearaway, Valhalla Knights 3, FIFA 14 and Ys memories of Celceta coming. Recently, Rayman legends, Killzone mercenary, Atelier Meruru plus. This just off the top of my mind. I'm sure theres more.

Theres also several high profile indie projects im looking forward to next year, like Liege and Soul saga. Theres freedom wars, Toukiden, Soul sacrifice Delta and Gravity Rush already confirmed plus whatever gets brought over from Japan.

For a dead system, that isnt bad at all.

It will if Sony would stop supporting the ps4 a while and focus on the vita but that will never happen

There's still the potential to be saved but it all depends on how badly Sony wants it. Handhelds are definitely hard to fight in NA with all the iPhones and smart phones going around.

PS4 will kind of quiet down a little bit after this year because of it launching and all. I hope next year the conferences will be Vita focused. PS4 is likely to get more attention this time around since it's the new console and Sony is currently at a loss with it and wants to make it the biggest launch ever. Sony better give Vita more Western support. Currently Europe and Japan are Vita's strongest markets (at close to 2 million each) while NA is just sitting there at approx 1.5 miilion. Sigh.

Don't worry and have faith on Sony. I don't think sony will quit the support and they are in bad position lately so they are relying upon PS4 for a turn around which is going pretty well so far and they allocated most of their resources on that. So, once PS4 is out and going well then Sony will turn the Vita that nobody ever predicted. I'm sure this will happen becaues the hardware, Sony's ecosystem of games, their first party strenth, their Audio/video resources are great strenth. 

Vita has great strenths and it just needs some games which is easy for Sony(as i said before right now Sony is giving most of the spotlight for PS4 launch so they are not focusing on Vita and also Hanheld doesn't save Sony completely if they allocate more resouces on Vita now, but if they give all the attention to PS4 which has the power to Save Sony as a company not jus Gaming) other than that nothing to worry about, when games from Sony First party start to roll then it will pick up and don't forget the other strengths of VIta where other Handheld can never have which is Gaikai Streaming and PS4 Remote play to play almost all the Playstation games on the go.

And Sony doesn't deserve failure with Vita because they have risked so much for gaming so they won't and will never get failed. Also Sony is alwasy slow in starting but picks up faster and stays longer with support which can be proved with the last consoles of theirs.

The sad thing is that Sony never even gave Vita true life. It never gave it a Naughty Dog game. Never gave a Santa Monica game. We have no GT, no GoW, almost no exclusive IPs, the West got only 2 Western AAA games this year! How many games has SCEA given us? Even SCEE isn't doing great, though at least we get KZ:M and Tearaway. And most importantly - why no 3rd parties? Right now is the perfect time to get their support. They will have to put extra work and cash in the development of PS4 games that will be released in a year or so, so they could use a smaller team (like Ubisoft Sofia, etc.) to make a Vita game in between to give them extra resources and warm the crowd up before the release of their PS4 game. At least that's what Sony should be telling 3rd parties like every single day until they agree to give us an exclusive game.

God, I hope we're gonna get an exclusive GTA soon... And that Japan will finally give us a game from a big franchise, even bigger than Persona (like FF, MGS or DQ). We need those.

Give me a one good reason why you think that it has no future.
