Jim sterlings review is really bad... Again. I don't think I'm going to like this game, and id give heavy rain like a 6. Edges review giving it the same score is a lot better.

But it feels like he's excited to be so negative. And he contradicts himself a few times in regard to the cast, etc. He does this a lot he's overly positive or overly negative depending if it's his type of thing or not. And with this game it's a increased because of his dislike of David Cage.

Except that Jim Sterling likes Heavy Rain(he gave it a 7) and he really liked Indigo Prophecy.

I never said he didn't. Since i often agree with his scores but find his analysis poor. That doesn't make this review good though, Nor his tendencys untrue. And his dislike for cage is more recent anyways, he's interesting when it's not his reviews.

68? Ha! I purchased games with lower meta scores and yet had a blast with them. My wallet is ready for this game :D

Me too... let me just throw Eurogamers Mafia2 4/10 score out there... I'm too old to care for review scores these days... If i like the concept and the game isnt total trash, then no 4, 5, 6 or 7 out of 10 will stop me.

It's just a shame so many people put so much trust in reviewers (though I understand it if you can only afford one game every few months)... but its when a game scores 6-7 out of 10 it's apprarently not worth peoples time :(

Eurogamers review is up tomorrow at 3 or 4 pm i believe... suspect it will get a 6.

I think that Eurogamer is going to give it a good 7 or 8.

Looks like I was right ;)

Don't care it got a 6, still getting it... cant wait, loved Heavy Rain, and though the demo had it's issues, still have the feeling..."need to know whats going to happen"...

Yep looks like you were right, damn you!! xD

I loved Heavy Rain too so i'm getting this game but next year.

I was worried this would happen. The demo at Eurogamer was pretty lacklustre and barebones. It didn't have very much to the gameplay at all, even less than Heavy Rain did. I held onto the hope that the story would make up for it (hence my absurdly overestimated metascore prediction) but it seems that it didn't.

Hate to say it, but this is sort of a good thing. The price should go down fast, and I'll get it.

I'm sure its great in some respects.

Wouldn't worry too much. "reviewers" today are not what they use to be.
Some of these remind me of W101 reviews. It got docked for being hard. It got docked for silly things really but it all came down to the reviewer not being good enough, rating it low, then needing to justify their low score in some way other than lack of skill

That makes you part of the problem.  I won't lie.  I'm part of the problem too :(.

I'll defend how I wait for game prices to drop though by saying instead of buying a few $60 games a year I'm probably buying around 20 games a year for $20-40.  Maybe a couple at $60.

somewhere in the 70's would seem about right, unless it was absolute garbage, heavy rain had quite a high score really at 87

personally i like P & C's,will have to see about the QTE in beyond

Well, the question is: when do you really play? But relax man, it was meant in a funny way. We are a games-site, we share the same hobby, so let's all have fun together. But really, it is not the gameplay why people buy this game.

I hope nobody defending this game will never ever say anything about Ryse's gameplay! NEVER!

I would have loved if Ryse was a more cinematic experience like HEAVY RAIN or BEYOND.

I would have loved if Beyond was a more a game experience like Ryse Ok, I am quitting this now Really, I am looking forward to a 1080p yt-video for the walkthrough but I won't disrespect people who enjoy this game and pay for it.

Have fun, guys!

It wasn't a knock on Ryse by any means. I just find it to be interesting enough where I would have enjoyed kicking back and playing it like an interactive movie.

I dig the Roman setting.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I didn't seriously take it as a knock
