Honestly, what were people here expecting from the 3DS since it's weaker than the gamecube.

The Nintendo 3DS CPU can clock a GPU at 400 MHz and does.

I don't see the GameCube doing more then around 200 MHz with its GPU clock at 194 MHz. And I don't see the Wii doing more then around 250 MHz with its GPU clock at 243 MHz.

The 3DS has way more better textures & shader abilities according to 3rd parties, and it has more then 120 million polygons clearly showing in its games, and it has somewhere from 60 to 100 shader cores. So what are you talking about.

The GameCube and Wii could never do Resdent evil revelations 3DS nor PS3 nor Castlevania 3DS nor batman Arkham Origins Blackgate nor kid Icarus uprising nor sonic generations 3DS nor cave story 3D.

The Wii can't even do the 3DS version of Donkey Kong Country Returns, which replace the Wii's cell-shaded graphics with pure polygon for 3DS.

Clock speeds don't matter much at all when the fact is the ati flpper features more shaders and texture mapping units for a greater raw power.

I want to see some sources for it's better texture and shader capabilites too if you don't mind. BTW it's GPU clock speed is 133 mhz http://imagequalitymatters.blogspot.ca/2010/09/tech-report-nintendo-3ds-hardware.html so that gives it 53 million triangles and a pixel fillrate of 533 million pixels a second. LOL about the pica200 60 to 100 shader cores. If that were true every 3DS would be frying since it can't handle that type of power consumption.

3DS

Gamecube

BTW resident evil 4 on gamecube looks better than resident evil revelations on the 3DS LOL. See how much better the bumpmapping is on the gamecube while also pushing a higher resolution too.

Just so you know almost every game uses polygons to render an image.

A former developer from High Voltage said that the 3DS has way more better textures & shader abilities then the Wii.

And 3DS screenshots are only 240p, so you have to see them on a 240p resolution display to know what it actually looks like.

But I see JoetheBro has already been answering you, so nevermind Mii, LOL.

Revelations looked fantastic and Im glad I pre-ordered Blackgate! Was skeptical at first but it really is looking nice.

Glad the graphics are enough to satisfy any reasonable person too.

Blackgate is still going to look better in person on the 3DS.

Looks comparable to Mirror of Fate, in addition to being a far superior game.

I want some source once again for that claim. 240p display or not the fact is the 3DS is pushing a much lower resolution so if anything the gamecube is more impressive in it's own department being able to match revelations visuals while also maintaining a more consistent framerate at a higher resolution.

Yes, in a real world sense the wii/gamecube has more power than the 3DS. Just like the PS3 has more power than the Vita.

It's only when factoring in the smaller screens and updated effects that the handhelds compete with their console twins.

No one (or at least I'm not) is talking about absolute power, just per pixel.

Smaller screens will help out alot when trying to obtain a better image quality but once we try to upscale the size of the image, it looks even worse than their console counterparts. Protables have limits too y'know and plus I'm trying to make people realize that they are overrating the graphical capabilities of a handheld just so you know.

http://mynintendonews.com/2011/02/09/nintendo-3ds-nintendo-3ds-is-more-powerful-than-wii-according-to-developer/

I assume that this stems from the 3DS architecture and componets being more modern GameCube's and Wii's. Not superior in total raw power, but easier to develop for and superior in certain areas.

Yyyyeaaahhhh, I'm pretty sure that the Batman game is a 2.5D game, while Resident Evil: Revelations is fully 3D.

You know that's 100% purely a difference in perspective, right?

What I bolded is what I've already told you in previous responses. I think I'm just failing to express my point in a way you can understand.

It's also a difference in complexity of game engine and what imagery has to be thrown around.

Also, a 2.5D game has a fixed camera, they can really optimise what looks good and what doesn't, whereas a full 3D movement game has to allow for you looking at objects from different angles/distances.

I understand that the Vita version will be the more technically impressive version of the game, the developer said they have done the assets for Vita separate of the 3DS version so it should be using higher resolution/quality textures and higher polygon environments and models. However Batman still looks great on 3DS. Vita version for me though.
