Vgchartz I am stuck between worlds here.. eather a new powerfull gaming pc or the oh so fancy ps4. Maybe you can use your powers to help me decide.

The only thing that I guess turns me off about ps4 is the no backwards compability at launch. Where as gaming pc would be the price. I am leaning towards ps4 as its affordible, promising 1st and 3rd party games. love the controllers of the playstaion types. Dvd player and yada yada. A gaming pc would offer more power and pc exclusives. Arma 3 is looking pretty damn good. But then again ps4 will have planetside?

PS4. Right now is practically the worst time to invest in a gaming rig.

It would be comparable to buying a current gen console at the end of its life, just with better graphics.

Already have a wii U, I just like gaming as a whole and like a variety lol. I am not to clear on valves concept.

PC is a muti-purpose tool that does a lot more then a console, comparisons make ZERO sense. There are many games that never come to PC.

Why not both? Most have PC's today anyway.

It's really hard to say, unless price is no factor, then it comes down to how bad do you want certain PS4 exclusives. Or PC exclusives or games that are severly gimped otherwise.

Do you prefer mods (gameplay or graphics wise), Emulating old games (you can play pretty much any pre-wii game on PC though you need to tweak a lot. higher image quality (AA, Higher Resolutions>Greater than 1080p, 3D gaming, 120 HZ or some variety).

That said, I agree with JoeTheBro, that I'd wait to invest on PC rig. Things that are good bang for you but now could possibly have issues with console ports from next gen. If you're going absolutely bleeding edge then I think you'd be fine, but that would mean cost isn't a factor for you and it is. I'm waiting on both, because launch consoles sometimes have issues, and no games I'm interseted in.

a good pc will make you smarter if you're building one urself and for power it will cost you double that of a psfour upfront. PS4 will charge online fees and higher priced software. If you like sony's software offerings then you should get a ps4.

PC, all the way. Like the guy from Nvidia said, there is no way a console can match a same time frame PC nowadays. Also, people who say it is cheaper to buy a console don't think in the long run: no online fee (unless on some games) and Steam/GoG/Humble Bundle promotions.
