Forums - Gaming - Ps4 Or PC.. that is the question?

What to buy?

PS4 113 54.07%

PC 96 45.93%

Total:209

Anecdotal evidence.
Mainly I see them sticking to their PS3's. Many people I speak to are not excited about the machine. Nor are they interested in the lineup.

The PS4's lineup is rather niche too. I dunno, maybe Knack will surprise some gamers and not be as boring as it looks. (its a pack in too) Meanwhile the PS3 is getting a ridiculous amount of content coming to it. ( But still not alot of people are buying the hardware, so its leveling off somewhat, so Im interested in seeing what it does holiday)
We also got a lot less RPG's this gen tbh.(Compared to PS1 days.)

I know.

But Sony's given me no reason to think otherwise. Not with all these cross-gen games.

Well I do remember the PS2's first year . Wasnt doing so hot in the beginning.

Imo, its a big mistake to buy a PC.

PS4 will get all sony exclusive, all japanese games, and most of the PC games.

PC games will just have few exclusives ( MMORPG, F2P , Rome Total War, etc. ) and always the same kind of games ( you will barely see Platformers for example )

So if you want good variety in games, a lot of exclusive games, buy a PS4.

if the most important thing for you is better grraphic, so go ahead and buy a PC

What are you talking about PC has platformers coming out it's USB ports at this point. Probably a lot more than the PS4 will have any time soon.

Just look at some of the platformers coming to PC in the near future

Mighty Number 9

La Mulana 2 (PC exclusive for now)

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero

Apotheon (PC exclusive)

Dark Matter (PC exclusive)

Hot Tin Roof: The Cat that Wore a Fedora (no console versions)

Aaru's Awakening (PC exclusive)

Platformines (PC only)

Escape Goat 2

A Walk in the Dark

TowerClimb

Project Black Sun

Pruge (PC only)

Path to the Sky

CASTLE IN THE DARKNESS (PC exclusive for now)

Legend of Iya

Odallus: The Dark Call

Valdis Story Abyssal City

Teslagrad

A.N.N.E

Chasm

AdventurOS

etc etc you get the picture

That is just upcoming games not even mentioning all the ones already available

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

horrible place to ask this question.

You need to go to a neutral ground environment. Asking on this site is like going to newegg.com and asking ps4 or pc. They will be hugely biased towards pc, just as this site will be hugely biased towards ps4.

I recently decided to go PC. I will get a PS4 eventually, but probably till at least holidays next year. As for my GPU upgrade, I'm going either 270X, 280X or GTX 760. I'm trying to stay in the $199-$299 range. PC GPU and Steam just seems to be the best combo for now; Cheaper games and better graphics I suppose. I can wait out till PS4 has a decent library of exclusives.

PS4. Right now is practically the worst time to invest in a gaming rig.

It would be comparable to buying a current gen console at the end of its life, just with better graphics.

In PC gaming, it is always the worst time to buy, because there is always a new generation on the horizon that will make the current tech obsolete. For me, the trick is not to worry about it too much, buy a cheaper 1-2 year old card, and invest the savings towards another upgrade in 2 years time.

alot of good points made. Forget launch consoles can be buggy some times makes me wonder to get a pc now and a ps4 in spring, just as the wii u had problems at launch. I am not tech savy at all is it possible to get a good gaming tower for 400-600? that could run Arma 3 or any big mmo? this is very complicated as i'd like both but can only afford one lol

Yeah but it's the really worst time to buy lol. Consoles have been holding PC games back for YEARS and just now that is changing. This year and the next should have a greater bump in PC hardware than the average year.
