valid point. Still i think they still will perform better that the Wii U launch. It is hard to translate the internet hearsay into reality.

also: sonic, donkey kong, wii party U/ wii fit U, wii sports club, bayonetta 2, X, smash, new zelda...

What if there is ZERO games that can keep the sales going, after the initial impulse buys and fanbase purchases, and both consoles will just struggle till the true next genness arrives on some new IP ?

what do you mean by what if? unless there are unannounced games for the launch window, we already know there isn't anything to sustain sales after launch.

They are already doing bttr then the wii-u when it comes to pre orders. And they have 3rd party and actual games to back things up after launch.

I don't remember there being much in the pre-order realm back when the PS2 launched.  I manasged Best Buy stores back then and they didn't do any system pre-orders because we got only 50 or so units at launch.  I don't remember the competition doing much with pre-orders either.  There wasn't enough systems guaranteed to do so.  Up to 3-4 days before launch, we thought we were only getting 20 or so units.  I could be wrong though.

So, you know unless you don't know... sounds legit.

pre-orders werent even big in 2006. You just lined up hours before the store opened (24 hours in advance if you wanted to guarentee a console) and waited. So, no... Ps3 did not have 1 million pre-orders. They probably shipped about a million for launch but thats it.
