so, 6500 yen is a lot but 10000 yen is little. ALL I can say is...

The correct thing to say is that wii u only costs a little more than ps3 while not being a next gen console. if the previous gen library were an argument, no one would ever upgrade to the next gen. and ps4 will be a wooping 10000 yen more expensive while starting to build it's lineup from scratch. No contest as to wich is the better option in the near future.

Fixed. Wii U library so far is 100% current gen, that's why people don't buy it - it's not an upgrade when compared to what they already have and have had for the lat 7 years. I haven't seen anything on Wii U that would say "next gen" to me. X is probably gonna be first such game, but when is it going to come out? In a year? Maybe. PS4 will be a better choice both in the near and far future - Sony and 3rd parties will see to it. Just look at the launch lineup and don't lie to yourself. PS4 will have more games than Wii U has in short time. Nintendo knows they messed up, they know they underestimated how powerful PS4 is going to be and made Wii U too weak. Now they try to go for the casuals with bundles like this one, cause they know they can't compete with PS4 - something they were hoping they'd be able to do.

You should word your statement better. First of all, Wii U is part of what we're right now calling the "next-gen" i.e the 8th generation of consoles. That is a fact. You're saying that visuals you saw on the Wii U thus far haven't impressed you and you barely see a difference between PS360 games and the current Wii U offerings. You're of course free to think that but that still doesn't make Wii U "last-gen".

No, you are acting like that.  Please explain to me what makes Killzone, Knack, or Drive Club so next gen.  If power isn't the only thing that matters.

That is what I find the most amusing aspect when you have the usual suspects shitting  on the GamePad:

The other 2 aren´t doing anything revolutionary either.

But I guess those silly arguments can´t be made...because reasons !

Boo, Nintendo, you shitty sequel factory ! All hail Ratchet and Clank 15, Forza 8, Uncharted 6 and Halo 7 !

What was a mistake with a handheld is the proper policy with a home console. Home consoles are a margin in Japan nowadays, that's why PS4 got delayed so much in Japan and why it really doesn't matter. Look at their charts, Vita sells better than PS3 on a constant basis there! They are handheld oriented. Home consoles are for the West and Sony is doint the right thing by making its launch titles western-oriented.

The reason for the delay in my opinion:

"This is really just an excuse . PS4 will be even released in other Asian countries this year.

The real reason in my opinion is that Sony is desperately trying to revitalize PSV in Japan, and therefore placing their bets on PSV2000, PSV TV, this holiday season and FFX/X-2 which releases 19th Dec.."

PS4 can wait because Sony shares the "WiiU won´t be a threat in Japan" mentality/arrogance.

I don't think so.  Sony has shown through their marketing and game development that the PS4 is a far higher priority than the Vita.  I think it's just a matter of where they want to launch first and put more units.  The US and Europe are bigger markets, and particularly with MS being strong in the US, they need the units there.  I'm sure Sony isn't happy about not being able to launch in Japan, but you can only stretch youself so thin.  Businesswise, it's the correct decision, although it's a bit of a slap in the face to their home country.

The other Asian markets don't need a ton of systems, to launch in Japan you need at least 500,000 systems for launch ... Sony decided to allocate those systems to the West instead. I can't blame them.

I think the home console concept in Japan is pretty much dying especially as handhelds/cell phones become more and more powerful.

Nintendoland/Wii Party U-  Uses a new control feature to make new kinds of gameplay possible= Last gen.

Knack-  Shiny graphics= Next gen

Wii Fit U-  Takes advantage of new social networking features to allow social media integreation far beyond what the 360 and PS3 were capable of= last gen.

Call of Duty Ghosts-  Better graphics and fish and matchaking.  Next gen, lets all go preorder it.

Wonderful 101-  Novel and unique gameplay, utilizes the Gamepad in several well thought out scenes= last gen

Killzone Shadow Fall-  SHiny graphics, better AI.  Next gen baby!

Honestly, I'm not trying to bash the PS4.  To some people graphics are very important, and to those people, I say enjoy your PS4.  But the idea that there are "next gen" games and "last gen games" is completely ridiculous.

There are two types of games, and they're not "next gen" and "last gen".  They're "enjoyable" and "not enjoyable".  Wonderful 101 is the most enjoyable game I've played in quite a while.  Sonic Lost World looks great.  Lego City was a clever take on the open world format.  Rayman Legends is the definitive version of one of the best platformers in year.  Nintendo Land is an underrated and hugely creative game.  I'm not going to sit there counting pixels and then turning my nose up and saying "oh that's sooooo last gen".  If it's a fun game that's all that matters.

Remember kids, next gen is a buzzword made by companies to make you spend money on a new product.  It has no relevance to your life.

The touchscreen/drawing on the controller thing is probably my least favorite thing about Wonderful 101 to be honest.

I don't think that's a great example.

Nintendo going 100% casual again. Can't they see that the bubble has exploded? And they slightly raise the price on the top of that! Difficult times ahead...

what planet do you live on?

how does one bundle mean they are going 100% casual and when where they 100% casual to begin with?

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Probbaly a good idea of Nintendo. With a Monster Hunter 4 bundle, it could be great for Wii U sales.

PSP has been the moneymaker this past gen in Japan for Sony and looking at the desperate actionism on Sonys part with a PSV revision (PSV2000) and PSV TV both of which won´t be released in the West this year, it´s quit obvious what they are trying to do. Focus everything to save their handheld business in Japan launching a new console besides PSV2000 and PSV TV wouldn´t help their handheld business over there. They simply think that PS4 won´t have  any problems because WiiU didn´t sell well so far.

It's more that I think they realize they have a good advantage over MS in the more important Western markets with a $100 price advantage.

But it's not an advantage if you have no systems to sell, so they need to keep inventory open for the US/Euro markets.

The Wii didn't stop the PS3 from selling in Japan anyway, the Wii U looks to be far less popular, so I guess really, why should they be in any rush? The Nintendo and Sony audiences are pretty different anyway in Japan.

The XB1 is a bigger threat simply put. MS aims at the same exact audience that Sony is going for, Nintendo tends to shy away from the audiences that make up Sony's bread and butter (male gamers aged 13-30 who like blockbuster action games, sports sims, FPS games, Final Fantasy, etc.).

It's not really disrespect, the fact is MS is simply a more direct competitior to Sony especially in the console business, there's really no doubt about it.
