The correct thing to say is that wii u only costs a little more than ps3 while not being a next gen console. if the previous gen library were an argument, no one would ever upgrade to the next gen. and ps4 will be a wooping 10000 yen more expensive while starting to build it's lineup from scratch. No contest as to wich is the better option in the near future.

Fixed. Wii U library so far is 100% current gen, that's why people don't buy it - it's not an upgrade when compared to what they already have and have had for the lat 7 years. I haven't seen anything on Wii U that would say "next gen" to me. X is probably gonna be first such game, but when is it going to come out? In a year? Maybe. PS4 will be a better choice both in the near and far future - Sony and 3rd parties will see to it. Just look at the launch lineup and don't lie to yourself. PS4 will have more games than Wii U has in short time. Nintendo knows they messed up, they know they underestimated how powerful PS4 is going to be and made Wii U too weak. Now they try to go for the casuals with bundles like this one, cause they know they can't compete with PS4 - something they were hoping they'd be able to do.

Statement 1:  The Wii U's library is too current gen for people to buy it.

Statement 2:  The PS4's launch lineup (80% of which are direct last gen ports) is awesome.

Lol wut?

Stop putting words in my mouth. I haven't said PS4 lineup is "awesome", just that it will have more games in a short time and thus Wii U will not be a better option for either near or far future.

There is quite a difference between 0% and 20%, the difference is "no reason to buy this console" vs. "quite a few reasons to buy this one". Any number of next gen games is better than 0 next gen games. What is more, there is a difference between the quality of the ports on PS3 and PS4 (one look at Watchdogs or ACIV on both platforms is enough). There is next to no (if any at all) difference between PS3 and Wii U ports. So yes, that makes a huge difference even with cross-gen games.

Right now Sony is repeating some of the same mistakes that they made with PSV. An even more western-focused lineup and PS3 ports like PSV. In fact Isshin is by far the biggest PS4 launchtitle but also available on PS3 the same with the  Musou games and MGS5. While the SquareEnix games likely won´t be ready before 2015.

LOL, you are acting like the majority of gamers cares for power alone. The problem of the Wii U isn't how the software looks, it's that there isn't much that isn't available on other systems right now. Power was also the final nail in the coffin for the 3DS, the DS, the Wii according to people like you. It's funny how Sony started only with the power argument cause Xbox came in. And now people act like it was always this way.

@bold - that's exactly what I've been saying in this thread if you haven't noticed. And you are wrong, I'm not acting like that, I know people don't care only about power (even though many actually do care about it and you shouldn't forget about it). Wii U failed to deliver anything next gen, there is no new experience and it's also failing in the power department so it won't be getting 3rd party ports from XO/PS4 which will hurt it big time. N was hoping to deliver on both fields, but failed at both. Sad but true.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Nintendo going 100% casual again. Can't they see that the bubble has exploded? And they slightly raise the price on the top of that! Difficult times ahead...

You hear it here first, the PS3 is 100% casual now!

if you wanted arguments you should have read my objection quote. I won't repeat myself to one who refuses to accept the truth.

Your arguments from that post are just naive, I was hoping for some serious ones. PS4 is building its library from scratch as opposed to Wii U? How many months do you think it's gonna take the PS4 to have more games than Wii U has? It's not like the year headstart was a runaway success for Nintendo with the longest game drought in history and pretty much no library to this day.

"Just look at the launch lineup and don't lie to yourself. "

Oh I'm so sorry.  You clearly weren't saying that the all current gen launch lineup was good.  I just grossly misinterpreted your statement.  Totally my bad on that one.

The PS4 has three games that can't be played on current gen consoles.  Tres.  The Wii U will have by that time... Uhhh lets see... New Super Mario Bros U, Wonderful 101, Sonic Lost World, Wii Fit U, Wii Party U, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Super Mario 3D World, Lego City Undercover, Pikmin 3... etc? But, you know, no reason to buy that console, because games don't count unless they're shiny enough.  Looking at that current gen slop we call GTAV is offensive to my eyes.  How can anyone enjoy a game like that? But, we should rush out to get a PS4.  Because Knack!!!!!!! Knack just SCREAMS I need to buy this next gen system!!!

Graphics are clearly all that matters.  That's why the PS3 trounced the Wii, the DS got destroyed by the PSP, and the Vita sold over 300K units last week.  It's all about the graphics baby.

What was a mistake with a handheld is the proper policy with a home console. Home consoles are a margin in Japan nowadays, that's why PS4 got delayed so much in Japan and why it really doesn't matter. Look at their charts, Vita sells better than PS3 on a constant basis there! They are handheld oriented. Home consoles are for the West and Sony is doint the right thing by making its launch titles western-oriented.

What new expierences does give us the launch games on the PS 4 besides better graphics? "but, but...better AI and obvious cloud lololol" Atleast Xbox One has the Kinect 2 as standard so they can build games around it unlike Sony.  Your whole argument is kinda idiotic. Nintendo is intelligent enough to know that it has to keep down development costs down in order to make profits as a Gaming Only company. Microsoft doesn't care, they have enough money. And why Sony goes always the same path since the PS 3 is a mystery for me, they didn't benefit from it at all.

No, you are acting like that.  Please explain to me what makes Killzone, Knack, or Drive Club so next gen.  If power isn't the only thing that matters.

The reason for the delay in my opinion:

"This is really just an excuse . PS4 will be even released in other Asian countries this year.

The real reason in my opinion is that Sony is desperately trying to revitalize PSV in Japan, and therefore placing their bets on PSV2000, PSV TV, this holiday season and FFX/X-2 which releases 19th Dec.."

PS4 can wait because Sony shares the "WiiU won´t be a threat in Japan" mentality/arrogance.

I dont think NA are really interested in Karaoke. If they were to release it in NA they'd probably drop Wii Karaoke U and therefore should lower the price. I personally have no interet in that game.
