Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft: Women make up nearly 40 percent of Xbox Live "audience" in US

Um...no.

Hopefully this will lead to more game developers investing in more fleshed out female characters in video games.

Game narratives too often suffer greatly from female characters not matching up to their male characters in terms of realism and or depth.

Imagine if a TV show like game of thrones female characters had paper thin personalities, it would greatly devalue the show's entertainment value.

This is the Game of Thrones

Where you either win

or you DIE

that are a lot of 360's in the kitchen

Why do people find this so hard to believe? Is it because they don't see them on COD or forums?

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Good question.

I don't know why people are having such a hard time believing this. Women gamers are a lot more prevalent than most people think.

They just tend to keep it to themselves to avoid creeps/ people who want to harass them for not being a real gamer because they don't give a shit to be a pop culture nerd.

We're talking about a medium where a girl can't even be on a server without the phrase "Tits or Gtfo" occuring.

As I recall, in the US at one point in time women owned more PSP's then men did.

although my fiancee has never played games on my 360, she sure uses it all the time to watch netflix, hbo go, and show time on demand. I am sure others are the same (especially with kinect, it makes watching so much easier)

More like guys acting as girls

Yea, I'm thinking a decent amount of woman users just use it for streaming.  Sure some game on it but I'm thinking that a majority are girlfriends and wives that use it for shows, movies and music.
