I have seen that in "the rest of the planet" ps vita is selling better, so I think that they are tie, I really hope the vita can recover, at least reach 40million lifetime sales

Question.. I havent been around much.. but why does Pezus have a link dp? .. is he feeling sick or something?
lol in a few months I'm going to have deja vu when I see this exact same thread again, but made by tbone.

PSVita had an exceptionally bad first WW holiday with about 1.1 million units sold. The Wii U has a price cut and a much better lineup of games available so it should pass the Vita over the holiday and not look back.

Telling in the sense the Wii U is selling horrible over there... Of course there are many reasons(such as brand loyalty) why the Wii U is selling worse, but it's sales are still dead.
On your point though, why would I look at PSP vs. DS? That's many years ago and also wouldn't tell the full story unless I cross referenced it with other regions. A better comparison is the 3DS vs. Vita in America and Europe. 3DS has 86% market share in Europe and 83% in America. That's such a small difference in the grand scheme of things. |
I brought PSP vs DS up specifically to show that it has a lot to do with brand loyalty on why the Vita has sold more than the Wii U in Europe.
It's not just PSP, it happened with PS3 as well, and I am pretty sure that the launch of the PS Vita in Europe may show this tendency as well.
edit: I've seen data that suggests PSP was more successful in Europe than in other regions when compared to the DS is what I mean in my first sentence.

He was actually a double agent all along for Nintendo. Last week he returned home.

Vita got a price cut too!
I can see Vita having a bad holiday, again, but how can you predict Wii U not only selling more than Vita but making up the two million gap before years end? Almost all year long Vita has outsold it week by week.

The WiiU will hit its stride in the next few months leading up to the holidays and beyond, as many of us already predicted (myself included).
