It doesn't matter anymore. We are getting to close to launch and all of the relevant info has been revealed for both consoles. Their isn't much news to talk about, so every website/blog/forum is making up things to talk about to generate conversation or hits. Of course, the Sony fans will pick the +50% side and the M$ fans will say Not That Much. Got to have something to discuss. It is boring. Guess we need another new BS insider leak or scientific breakdown to argue over.

Some people can't be pleased buy saying that they are buying the console because of the 1st party that they preffer on said system, so they have to defend and attack endlessly... but in the end is pretty funny see all this argument and now that 90% of people on them wouldn't chance their choice because they have console because of the games not the specs... I myself am in love with most of sony's 1st parties and if it is more powerfull that is the icing in the cake, and about the sale of console and games, as long as it sells enough for it to be a health system and have the games keep coming I'm satisfied... And for that this probably was the best generation of them all (and I discount Ninty on this war because since NES no matter how much their console sells they put games that pleases their fans, and some that I also like to play, but we all now that even though I may love sony 1st's and some here love ms 1st's none of the systems are independent from 3rd's supports to be a health plat).

Nice article.

It is clearly aimed towards the people who are comparing the specs and in the article he outright insults them.

He then goes ahead and gives you what he believes truly matters in a game, only a week or so 2 days after writing an article about how you should hold off on AC IV on PS360 and get it for PS4/XBone because they are stronger. So power differences only matter when Matt says so apparently.

Also, yes Matt, the power gap does matter when choosing which console you purchase, especially when there is also a $100 price difference and 90% of the games are on both platforms.

The entire article comes off as an incredibly defensive rant. 

Political speech, Our console is strong, but if you find that it isn't as strong as other, strength doesn't matter, games matter... Our games are the prettiest, but if there is a prettier game, graphics don't matter, gameplay matters (not putting ninty on this, because I can accept that Ninty game aren't "graphic" heavy but are "artistic" pleasant)... Our gameplay can't be found anywhere else, and when you see that most where done in a lot of different games, gameplay don't matter the cloudz matter... and since it isn't in use yet we can't rule that (but MS have gone a long way down from 40x the power of the console, to some solutions off-loaded, to dedicated servers that most games already have)... it's all deception...

Can't they say that their games will please people that play them and that they have choosed different aproach and features and be happy about it??? The people that cares about graphics won't be trully iluded from PR, and the people that don't care wouldn't even note the difference so they don't even need to keep speaking about it...

But the worst part is that MS KNOWS what is best for gamers all the time even tough they are completly lost and changing policies everyday. Can't they just use "I had a dream....... but we will adequate our vision to what our public desires"... please stop pretending.

Couldn't care less really. This is just a distraction from what really matters to me as a gamer.

It's not about power, it's about optimization! You see, an optimized Pentium 3 will outperform any i7 if that i7 happens to be not optimized! That's why the DDR3 in the Xbox is in fact faster than Sonys GDDR5. Because we all know that Sonys console is not optimized. At all. Because DIRECTX 11.2! Or... Teh cloud... Or whatever...

This has become ridiculous a long time ago. PS4 is the stronger system. #dealwithit

What does this have to do with anything in the article?  No where does it even mention that.

We either move past this obsession with abstract system specs, or keep living down to stereotypes about gaming as spectacle in lieu of art form.
