"It doesn't mean they don't extrapolate, what makes you think so?"

Because that's what the article says:

As far as I know neither GfK or Chart-Track extrapolate for any PAL countries as they generally cover such a high percentage already, unlike NPD.

I think it's somewhat strange, since previous GfK figures for other countries didn't seem to show that. Who wrote that sentence, was it some random blogger or someone with any credibility?

There's the same kind of sentence coming with all the GFK's French charts :

 or :

sorry, double post. ^^

@BKK:

GfK extrapolates the data, but I don´t know, why this time the numbers are not extrapolated.

Your link isn't working for me, so I post the one that should work here.

After reading the article I am not sure if Gfk really doesn't extrapolate. It could just be the assumption of the writer of the article instead.

Perhaps we (The Source, DKII, ioi) should write to them and ask.

I also think so.

Yes, we need a German speaker to make an inquiry with them.

Edit:

Thanks koffie, fixed the link now.

I´ll ask Media Control. :)

I'll ask them too... :)

Interesting, maybe we are a little high on our PS3 figures then. I'd imagine the GFK data is scaled up to represent 100% from an 80% sample, but we will check to make sure...

I think to a thread i made in december about weekly hardware sales in Germany. I find these numbers on neogaf, without a link, and it's because of these numbers that you have given a big boost for the ps3 at the end of the year in Germany.

Maybe, this numbers were not true, or it was a particulary big week for the ps3.

Edit:

That was this:

NDS 96.153
Wii 52.618
PS3 35.490
PS2 27.577
PSP 21.010
X360 8.012
