Here is a link to Drive Club HD video from Gamescom even though this is a 1-2 month old build. It should show you how far it has come and what to expect from the finished game. No pre baked lighting here! http://www.gamersyde.com/news_high_quality_videos_of_driveclub-14585_en.html moderated kasz216 |
I have seen those videos. My opinion stands.
And I love the shit out of Motorstorm, a racing franchise by this same developer. Some of you need to realize you can have a negative opinion and not be some "blind or biased fanboy".

This is the kind of response I'm personally getting tired of.
I made the argument before that general media sources aren't gaming media. However, for another publication, someone (I can't recall who) declared Forbes to be gaming media because the individual writing was a writer who solely wrong on the subject of gaming or technology. Now you're arguing the opposite and challenging the expertise of someone who does this for a living.
Far be it for me to decide whether someone is or isn't an expert on a subject matter which they write about for a living. It is ok, and acceptable for me to believe a person's opinion is wrong while they are still an expert in their field. For example, there are many people who believe UFO's as an alien craft are real, they write about them frequently, and some even make it on TV. I, for one, do not agree with their opinion. Likewise, there are many people who believe Big Foot/Sasquatch is real, they write about them frequently, swear they have evidence he/she exists, speak at events about them, and some even make it on TV. I disagree with their opinion.
I have a valid reason for disagreeing with their opinions. My disagreement doesn't make them any less of an expert in their field. They are just an expert in that subject matter that I don't share an opinion of that subject matter on. Bottom-line, he's a gaming journalist. Deal with it.
This guy clearly has written about gaming in the past. In fact he's written about Drive Club in the past. So what makes the Daily Mail so horrid? The last I knew, the Guardian wasn't a news source typically taken seriously either, yet they're the ones that broke the NSA spying story. The point being that every dog has his day and media outlets are dictated by the quality of the effort put in as much as they are about what the editors let go out.
The final point being made here is this. In the opinion of a(nother) non-gaming media outlet the Xbox One has the better looking games. People here seem to want unbiased, non-first party opinions, yet when they happen they object for every possible reason. The arguments against aren't sound. "I don't like this expert because I don't think he's correct." Fine. What the hell's wrong with what he said?
Some people have made valid arguments. Yours isn't one of them. Your attacking the credibility of someone who writes for a living, yet you have no basis for attacking this individual's arguments other than you disagree with his opinion. Fine. You disagree with it. If you do that's OK. The problem I have is attempting to discredit his opinion based on the media outlet he writes for.
There are well respected gaming journalists who write for less than well respected media outlets. They do this because it's what they do. It is their career. Attempting to discredit what they say because they work for a less than well respected media outlet is folly. It doesn't serve you or anyone else any good.

You are taking this whole thing waaay too seriously
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

That the amount of vehicles that where anounced by the time the article was written more then 30 have been confirmed up to now plus there was another article last week that the game will feature 120 new cars that previously haven't been in other Forza games. The Forza 5 Limited edition comes with 1,250 car token enough to buy all the cars in the game from the start I'm guessing on average it will take about 3 tokens to get every car so my guess is that there will be around 400 cars in the game. The number of cars in the game probably would have been a lot higher if they decided to not include the autovista mode for every car in the game.

I don't think I am.
With all that being said I still believe that there is a good change that Forza 6 will be released before GT7 especially if they decide to release a Prologue first.

400 sounds more like it. Cheers.
It could be less its just a educated guess on my part but both Forza Horizion and Forza 4 had a fair amount of cars that you could buy with only one or two tokens (never bought tokens myself). I was hoping for over 600 but having every car available in autovista mode will be kinda cool but a bit of a overkill (half would have been enough) I would have perfered a few more cars.

I think what Porcupine is basically saying is that [SELF CENSORED BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO BE MODERATED FOR CALLING A SPADE A SPADE]. It's a commonplace now all over the net and I agree that such condescending and dimissive snark brings nothing constructive to a discussion.
