Forums - Sales - VGChartz tracking PS Vita TV?

I wonder so too.. But maybe they should regroup it with the two models as well

I dont think they will, the Vita tv is pretty much like a super gameboy or a gameboy player

oh yeah. they are the same thing. because you can put a gameboy cartridge into the super gameboy adapter and start playing without further hardware.

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

They should all be tracked together (they play the same games), but I don't know what ioi will do.

PSVITA.TV will double the system's lifetime sales.

I'm highly skeptical about that.  The main reason goes into the fact that you can't take it with you anymore, which is 100% the point of a handheld device.  What that means is that the people buying them are the people who want to play the handheld games, want to save money, and don't care about being able to take the device onto a train or bus or something.

Really doesn't matter what VGChartz does. Sony and third party developers will know the numbers and that is what counts. We will have a small idea of how it is selling based on quarterly numbers even without VG tracking.

I hope Sony does a good job of marketing this as a PS4 hot spot next year. A PS4 in every living room and a PSVTV in every bedroom should be there push. Once GaiKai launches in the US the Value in this device will only rise.

At the same time it loses its "portability", it gains another element. Vita TV is a cheap alternative to those who wants to play Gaikai library(wich i think will include PS2 and PS3 games)... The idea is just amazing. Its not like "Play Vita on your TV", is like "cheap alternative to play PS1, PSP, Vita, PS2 and PS3 games, and also watch movies on Netflix, see your trophies, and many other things on your TV. Just for 99 dollars"

Hmm... but don't you think that has a highly limited appeal?  As unfortunate as it is, most gamers care about modern games and don't give a shit about previous gen games.  Otherwise we wouldn't see so much trash talk about graphics.

I feel like PS Vita TV is comparable to Ouya. Both cheap, play not quite HD video games, and can do stuff like netflix, etc. I would think PS Vita can at least outsell Ouya.

The PS Vita TV is the console without the screen and controllers included. The 2DS is the console without the 3D.

I see no real difference as it's the exact same console, minus a little bit of compatibility in features. Retail games are still playable on it and it still accepts Vita memory cards. I think it should be tracked along with Vita sales.

Besides the Vita games, yes, it is a little limited. But i think thats why the name is Vita TV. Could have made more sense they call it "Gaikai TV" or "Playstation TV", but no. You can play most of Vita games(others can never be playable, like Tearaway, wich use a lot of the back touchpad. But dualshock 4 compatibility can come and some games wich use the front touchscreen can get some compatibility(like Killzone Mercenary, to melee kills), but you also can enjoy old PS1, PSP and PS2 games and not so old PS3 games, and also things that devices like the Apple TV offer, for the same price.

I mean, it has a lot of features for a 99 dollars device like Apple TV, but Apple TV dont offer so many Playstation games.
