Ugh. Not another one of THESE. A $129.99 handheld vs a $399.99 home console. Not only are they separate products that don't compete against each other, one of them is $270.00 cheaper.

I'm sure you should have read up on it by now, but each console generation seems to have more and more pre-orders on them.  Remember Wii U pre-orders?  Had news about new highs with that one as well.  Not a good way to gauge sales for anything, really.  You need more than that.

Yeah I remember Wii U pre orders. Start off big then slow down, which is exactly why I think PS4 will outsell 2DS IN 2013. It'll start off massive (1-2 months at least) then it'll slow down. But when, and if, it slows down 2013 will be long gone.

The Wii+PS3 combined sold over 4 million units in 2006. Those would be very impressive sales for a single console alone to manage this year -- basically selling over a million more units than the Wii in its launch Holiday at a $150 higher price.

The DS sold over 8.7 million units in the final quarter of 2006... Pokémon Diamond and Pearl were not released outside of Japan until 2007. The 2DS matches the DS Lite price of $130 in America.

It would not be unexpected for the 3DS to exceed 8 million sales in the final quarter of this year. It would not be unexpected for the PS4 to sell under 4 million, either. You should expect the 2DS to be the best-selling 3DS model because it has the lowest price and has that "new" factor.

I don't think so. The 2DS won't sell bucket loads like some of you are hoping for. This isn't the DS lite we're talking about here. The 2DS has a more limited audience while the DS lite was marketed towards everyone. And the PS4 is going to be a brand new console launch. Not a chance. I'm sure it'll still sell a lot, but again if we're talking about the 2DS alone, it won't outsell the PS4.
