I'm not saying everyone cares, but I do, and so does everyone I know who grew up with Nintendo. I don't think it's the slightest bit wrong to criticize them when they are wrong. Simply eating up everything they do as gospel doesn't help me and it doesn't help them.

I'm sorry but many gaming journalist and analyst are consistently wrong when dealing with Nintendo.  The Wii and DS proved how wrong they were with the state of the company.  3DS is entering beast mode right now and Wii U sales are about to pick up.  This stupid fuck is calling the Wii U a failure right now.  He is basically calling it a Virtual Boy even though it has sold over 4x that by now.  You want to write a Nintendo doom article?  Go back to Virtual Boy, N64, GameCube eras...  Their handhelds carried them through those years with profits and the 3DS is going damn strong (software lineup this year has been stellar and there are plenty of system sellers to be released later this year). 

Are their problems with Nintendo?  Sure, but they are in process of fixing or have fixed many issues with their business plan

Smartphones ARE indeed a threat, and something that Nintendo needs to address, but this guy makes it out to sound as if there won't be any hardcore gamers left in a few years. Guy knows shit about these things. Sure, a lot of CoD/FIFA/Madden gamers might move over to mobile devices over the years and stop buying dedicated gaming machines. That those are in a way a niche group anyways. Gamers that crave their Zeldas/Halos/Marios/Gran Turismo etc won't move to mobile devices for quite some time.

Why? Because there's no precision in those devices. They're clumsy when it comes to gaming. That's probably change, but not in the nearest 5 years.

But he loves Nintendo :P
