When all is said and done. As I like to champion single player only games, this is not bad thing for me whatsoever :D

Somobody said to me in another thread it is because Bluethooth limitation... 7 devices simultaneos... there is even a article in wikipedia explaining the limitaton.

Sports games needs more than 4.

I've never needed more than four, playing LBP used 4 and thats just about as many as you can possibly need. I'm sure there are some games that could do it, but I guess the more players the more hectic/crazy unplayable it becomes.

I agree with Kowenicki I suspect he may have it wrong, to go from 7 to 4, sound strange, unless there is a technical reason to do so (which is possible).

All you really need is 4 controllers never got the point of why Sony did 7 with PS3 or MS doing 8 with the Xbox One.

Boo. I hate all the step backwards PS4 is making. Charging for online. No BC. 4 controllers instead of 7.

Time to cancel the extra 6 controllers I had pre-ordered. Only gonna play by myself now!

Bluetooth could connect up to 8 devices. Remove the PS3 and bam, 7 controllers.

I only used four DS3s and three 360 pads so this shouldn't affect me, but I'm still not indifferent about it.

Hopefully it is only 4 DS4s, and still allows more for things like move and headsets.

I understand the stop at 7, what I didn't get is why it went above 4.

I guess sports could utilize it, but it seems like a bad idea to implement just for one genre.

It is not 7 controllers... it is 7 devices... so if you use two headsets you can only use more 5 controllers... I mean two controlloer + two headsets... 4 slots used... so the 7 is reasonable.

Now 4... 4 for what? 4 for controlers only? Fine, I can live with that... 4 for devices? 2 controllers + two headsets at max? No... big deal here.
