GTA5 will do fine, it's a big franchise, lots of advertisement and so on. I've had forgotten that Pokemon would come so early, that will probably do a big Black Friday. But I still think that NA Christmas will be affected by PS4/One. NA public loves to jump right on the newest thing.



Bet with jetforcejiminy: PS4 will pass the Wii lifetime numbers.

hardcore gamers yes it'll affect, but ps4 high demand will probably not be met (like wii was) and in the us parents would rather imo buy a 2ds+pokemon(or any game) for thier child for $170+ then a ps4+knack for $460+! I see 2ds price being a huge factor in sales. Black friday or even weeks in dec we can see a $99 2DS. Who is passing up a moment to shut up their kid for $99 handheld? lol. Vita+wiiu are the wild cards here, the thing is wiiu has a handfulof games and vita has the connetivity with ps4, but to me people that lets say want both already have a vita imo. I even thought the price cut on vita would make it jump in the US from 4k-6k a week to around 30k? but then again no new software came but is right around the corner (Killzone/Tearaway)

i think its possible actually. the 3DS should do 15M easily and can surpass too. lets be generous and say both PS4 and X1 did 5 million each. and lets say the WiiU does 5M too and the vita 3M. that would ammount to 18 million. if the 3DS explodes it can do that number. also, PS4 and X1 will seem supply constraint so i doubt they will manage to do 5 Million each. its hard for the 3DS to do it, but it is possible.  you are talking about shipments correct? 

5M for ps4 and xone combined would be generous, 10M is out of question. vita should end the year with like, 3M? and wii u between 7 and 8M, that's 15~16M, wich the 3ds can certainly top.

Seems pretty probable to me. PS4 + XBONE will be constrained by stock shortages, Vita is doing naff all in the West at the moment and I don't see anything coming to change that in 2013.

The only potential spanner in the works IMO is Wii U. Who knows what PS4/XBONE shortages combined with Mario 3D World will do in December. It will be the only "real" choice in December IMO.

I really don't know where people get that PS4 will have more demand than the original Wii did in 2006.

I guess there's the factor that people have been starved of new (in terms of a noticeable power leap) consoles for far longer? I mean the Xbox came out in 2002 in Europe, Xbox 360 was then out in 2005 and Wii in 2006.

The last console release (barring the Wii U) was March 2007 in Europe. I think the market is more hungry for a new system than it was in 2006, however I still don't see anything touching Wii like launch sales for a good while.

What games?! Logic and common sense  would say otherwise.

Donkey Kong? Looking at current figures, if you want that game, you'll already own a WiiU - the same goes for every other release as yet again, nothing is new and no new major franchises are coming out. Heck, even the Zelda is simply a HD version which as we know from the PS3, only sell small amounts.
