I guess there's the factor that people have been starved of new (in terms of a noticeable power leap) consoles for far longer? I mean the Xbox came out in 2002 in Europe, Xbox 360 was then out in 2005 and Wii in 2006.
The last console release (barring the Wii U) was March 2007 in Europe. I think the market is more hungry for a new system than it was in 2006, however I still don't see anything touching Wii like launch sales for a good while.
RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.
