I cancelled 3 pre-orders for ps4 and 3 for xbox one, ones i was originally going to buy for the office, but instead decided id wait and buy them middle-to-late 2014, a single person switching preorders and posting about it doesnt mean a thing, they could just as easilly change their mind and switch again before release.

If there was an influx of multiple people all doing the same and posting proof, then id say it was notable, but not worrying.

However way you look at it, both consoles are going to be more or less sold out by the end of the year anyway so it makes very little difference in the bigger picture.

And that goes for people switching from xbox to ps too.

The difference with this one is, the guy went around and played a bunch of games on both.  Realized he would rather play the games on one system and switched his order.  To my knowledge this is the first time he has done and that has not revoked it.

I agree, I think they both will have good launches.  Then once people get to use the things, they will start differentiating.  The real competition doesn't happen till 2014.  (As that's when most of the games come out.)

I understand they played both, but that still doesn't make it “powerful”. When you haven’t tried them you are making your decision based on assumptions of the information you have read and seen, those assumptions may not actually be correct and result in your choice changing upon trying both.

 It's no different than how after playing on a 360, PS3 and PC, I chose the PC as my main "platform" because it suited my preferences better, were as millions of others chose the PS3 or 360. Does that mean I have created a powerful message for the PC now? :P Of course not, that would be stupid, in the same way calling a receipt that shows a common occurrence is “powerful”.

I'll just do the sameto my ds4s as I did to a spare ds3, mod one to have 360 layout analog and leave one default.
The 360 layout is nice for some games and the ds3 layout nice for others.

Again, it one perons playing all of them and rethinking his financial commitment.  He dumped his PS4 pre order for what he thought was better, the Xbox One.  That's a very powerful statement.   Sorry if it upsets you so much.

I don't get what you're saying exactly.  He changed because of the controllers?  If so, that's sad, as I'm sure they're both very good.  If you're saying he changed because of the launch games, personally I find that amusing, that someone would be that shallow with their decisions, but okay.  I have no problem with that.

However, you saying that personal taste is a "powerful statement" is just silly.  Someone liked one set of games better, big deal.  It's not the first either way and probably won't be the last.
