Forums - Microsoft - Why would Titanfall be an XBOX ONE system seller?

There is banking that the XBOX ONE will be a system seller, and drive it to do sales.  I am curious why, in light of these:

* It is also on the XBOX 360.  Not saying it might not sell well, but since this is the case, individuals who have an XBOX 360 can hold off and buy the 360 version.

* It is multiplayer only.  The game is going to live and die by how many are playing it online.  And unless a person has a friend dragging others along, you don't get this.  I am curious to see an example of a multiplayer only non-MMO that was a system seller.

* It is a new IP.  I would be interested in someone showing a title that is a new IP AND not a new genre of game that was not cover (ie, Wii Sports) that ended up moving a lot of systems.

* BUT, BUT... it is buy the guys who did Call of Duty (former Infinity Ward heads).  And if you want to go there, I can also say it looks a LOT like Call of Duty, but with mechs.

Titanfall may do well, and has a good chance to establish itself as a franchise, but be a driving force in the ONE getting a lot of sales?  I just don't see it.  Please feel free to explain why you see it do, without getting caught up in any hype that it is a next-gen exclusive.  MAG was that for the PS3, and it isn't a system seller.

it will be marketed a lot on the xbox one, also they are already claiming they can do stuff with the AI (i dont know what it is exactly though) that they can only do on the xbox one. also the Xbox 1 version will look much better than the 360 version and have more and better effects which might drive a lot of people to get the X1 version. also i wouldnt be surprised if the xbox 1 has exclusive content

The Hype is huge and it seems to be better on the ONE

Just shit stirring. :P

This is a hard one to call, I dont think its going to perform miracles(sales) though.

The best version (Supposedly) will be on Xbox One reported by the developers. Plus I want dedicated servers. It sold me on the Xbox One.

As for PC, i dont care for Keyboard/mouse in multiplayer games. Hence me getting multiplayer games on consoles.

as i said, i have no fucking idea. maybe the mech AI? like in forza driveatar?

Because it's the Xbox One version is the only next generation console version and it kicks ass.
I'll be grabbing it for PC luckily.

In my view, I don't think it will be a system seller for the XB1 since it's going to start off on 3 platforms. It is true, people who want the next gen experience will forgo the 360 version in favor of the XB1 version, but there will be people who feel perfectly fine with playing it on 360. Also, those who want the 'definitive version' have the PC as an option. It should be interesting to watch, but I suspect they'll push it on the One more.
