There is banking that the XBOX ONE will be a system seller, and drive it to do sales. I am curious why, in light of these:
* It is also on the XBOX 360. Not saying it might not sell well, but since this is the case, individuals who have an XBOX 360 can hold off and buy the 360 version.
* It is multiplayer only. The game is going to live and die by how many are playing it online. And unless a person has a friend dragging others along, you don't get this. I am curious to see an example of a multiplayer only non-MMO that was a system seller.
* It is a new IP. I would be interested in someone showing a title that is a new IP AND not a new genre of game that was not cover (ie, Wii Sports) that ended up moving a lot of systems.
* BUT, BUT... it is buy the guys who did Call of Duty (former Infinity Ward heads). And if you want to go there, I can also say it looks a LOT like Call of Duty, but with mechs.
Titanfall may do well, and has a good chance to establish itself as a franchise, but be a driving force in the ONE getting a lot of sales? I just don't see it. Please feel free to explain why you see it do, without getting caught up in any hype that it is a next-gen exclusive. MAG was that for the PS3, and it isn't a system seller.
