To me for the news and talk about one of my hobbies.

Yet you don't think it's appropriate to discuss the reasoning behind differing opinions? You think it's better to just give your piece and avoid anyone who disagrees?

I gave my opinion and explained it.  He gave his and explained it.  I said I disagree, he said he disagrees.  Does it need to be explained any more.  I listened to him and he listened to me.  We are not going to agree regardless if we make one comment or 100.

Does having a different opinion really need 100 comments and an agreement?  Or can I just say hey, I respect your opinion I just dont agree.

It is as simple as that Jay.  Now maybe you should comment about something that is on topic.

as a 3rd party jumpng in on this discussion. I actually havent really been able to tell or see your explanation on how sony's comment was unprofessional. maybe being more clear in your backing up of your viewpoint would help. this isnt an insult just a suggestion.

i too would like to know what part of this comment was unproffessional:

"while others have shifted their message and changed their story, we were consistant in mainiting policies and a model that are in tune with consumers desires"

nice doublespeak.
george orwell would be proud of him.

building a system that almost has abandoned gaming,100%ignoring gamers complaints for weeks and month
contradictions twice a day
100% pure lies("xbox1 100% built around drm,not removable"=4 days later removed
and turning 180 not because of gamers but because of catastrophic pre order numbers.

and now such a comment?

My personal belief is that you should never troll another company or competitor for mistakes(And even more so when they have already fixed them).  You should let your products talk and be respectful towards your competition.

But you didn't explain yours thouroughly though. This is how the conversation with you and shinobi went:

You: "Sony was unprofessional"

Him: "How were they being unprofessional? Explain yourself."

You: "Would it be okay if Microsoft said they won't let your account get hacked?"

Him: "Yes. That would fair game. That doesn't explain anything"

You: "Sony was being childish and arrogant. I don't like fanboys. I am not a fanboy."

Him: "AGAIN, How were they being childish and arrogant. You're just saying they're childish/arrogant without explaination. Explain yourself."

You: "I have explained myself multiple times already."

Him: "What? No you haven't. You keep making statements without actually explaining them."

You: "So opinions are facts?"

Him: "No. I never said that. I'm just interested in an explanation of your opinion."

You: "Would it be okay if Microsoft said they won't let your account get hacked? No. Because that would make them arrogant jerks."

Him: "I already addressed that situation. Actually, it would be okay. Nothing is wrong with highlighting your strengths."

You: "I disagree. Leave me alone"

Him: "What part do you disagree with?"

You: "I don't think it's okay to troll the compeition"

Him: "What? This has nothing to do with trolling. They're just highlighting their strengths. How is that trolling"

You: "Opinions are not facts"

Him: "True. But they can be crticized if not exlpained. I'm just asking for an explanation"

You: "I respectfully disagree with your opinion."

Him: "I give up"

.....

And no explanation was ever given. None. Just deflection.

These are accurate summaries of your posts. You can look through the thread to see for yourself.

This begs the question then...

If they have a two-way conversation going on with the community then how did they end up making a console that was anything but what the community wanted?

That only happens when you don't listen.

& this begs the question

How many gamers knew about the total system to have a two way conversation?

Beats me, I don't follow everyone's tweets, PSblog posts, surveys, etc... However, one came out being what consumers wanted while the other had to adjust their policies to the match the other. That says it all.

I don't fully understand the point of your question. Is it to say we didn't know exactly what the PS4 would have? If so, of course they didn't, but obviously they listened throughout the years and sculpted it based on surveys, tweets, PSblog posts, etc... While the other only cared to move things in a direction most beneficial to to themselves.

yes, I am saying that I found the initial XBone to be very anticonsumer. Many others did as well, hence the backlash they got.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Looking over quite a few things i said.  All these are reasons I said it was unprofessional.  Keep in mind this is purely my opinions but it is why I think it is unprofessional. Companies are taught to be respectful and when you troll like this it can be considered unprofessional.

"Every company makes mistakes and Microsoft made one.  To make fun of them for trying to fix their mistake is a little pointless in my opinion."

"As I said it was a little more relevant at E3.  At Gamescom it was more like "Hey we joked around and made fun of your policies at E3.  Now we are going to make fun of you for changing them because we can.""

"So would it have been professional if MSFT said "Hey buy XBL, we don't allow 80m accounts get hacked?"

No that is out of poor taste and no comment should be made like that."

"And the last thing i want to see is a company start to act like the childish fanwars we see here on the internet."

"Sony has made mistakes in the past and it is not respectful of a company (Even a competitor) to act like arragont jerks about those mistakes.  They should let their products talk for them."

And none of these are good exlpanations

1. Shinobi responded to this by saying it's okay inform the public that you have a better product. You've done nothing to refute this.

2. This is literally the same point as point 1 with different wording.

3. Shinobi responded to this. It would be perfectly acceptable if Microsoft talked about the stability of their online system. In fact, I'm fairly certain that Microsoft has talked about their online stabiliy as a direct result of Sony's failure. So this point makes no sense.

4. Again, you're just stating that Sony is acting childish without explaining why.

5. Same as above. Just switch "childish" with "arrogant"

And i owe you a further explananation?  Ive said a few times now that it is disrespectful to troll or make fun of other companies for mistakes they have made.  Instead of making fun of them they should be letting their products do the talking.  That has been my reason and you want another one.  Im not going to offer another reason because that IS my reason.

If you disagree then fine.

i fail to see how those words were trolling the competion, but thank you for at least trying to explain your reasoning. not that i can say i agree, i definitely dont, as i dont see anything wrong with pointing out how your company/product/feature is better than the compititions.

Perfectly reasonable and fair enough :)
