The main issue with the XB1 is the $100 price gap, but I think MS will respond quickly if the PS4 gets too much steam.

Library wise I think MS has the better library ... Rhyse, Dead Rising 3, and Killer Instinct at launch and then Titanfall next spring trumps Sony's exclusives. Forza/Drive Club is a wash.

Considering Sony hasn't announced the vast majority of their PS4 exlusives yet... your point is kind of moot, dont you think?

Just seems weird that fans are ok with SOny staying silent on their games this whole time....especially with a rich, and I mean rich, history of annoucning games 2+ years in advance.

Not really, their Japanese studios might, but most of their Western games are announced around 1 1/2 years away at most. Anyway, most of the PS4 exclusives to be announced are for 2014. I very much doubt that there is anything else beyond Knack, Drive Club and Killzone for launch which is a bit dissapointing

Depends, considering this is a console launch, therefor such an announcement concept is entirely thrown out the window in favor of shock factor and consistent hyping of their new system. I think we'll see some new games annouced today, possibly launch window, we'll have to see... We'll see some big 2014 games at least, by my estimation. One thing I find amusing about this Gamescom so far, is that it seems I was right when I said Microsoft seemed to blow their Games Load at E3 and didn't really have anything new to show for the rest of the year.

MS needed to after their fail of a reveal. Can you imagine a terrible reveal followed by a mediocre E3? If you thought PS4 was to dominate before the 180 imagine what it would have done against that.

If you are leading on pre-order in America which is Xbox land do you really think Sony has to say anything while customers are doing the talking by pre-ordering? Its the same as last gen. Sony was doing all the talk (we have blue ray, the best  console, online is free, more exclusives...)while MS was outselling them until the $300 ps3 slim came out.

I really hope you aren't being serious.

This is hyperbole of epic proportions. It's a sponsor; one of many.

Real NFL fans already have DirectTV and their fantasy football app. They don't require a $500 unit to perform the same operation they already have.

You ever use the apps on DirectTV?  They are god awful slow to load and function.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

I'm sorry but what is Sony gonna announce? Your rebuttal might be moot my friend.

So firstly, Sony is the sponsor of the Champions League, ie the most prestigous actual football competition

And in terms of exclusives, Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica and Media Molecule all have PS4 games under wraps (actually Guerilla do as well, but that might be further away)

But the M$ marketing machine is going to be absurd, though it didn't manage to convince people about Windows 8 even though that is fundamentally a good product

Although it sold 100 million software it still didn't convince people... ok. You can name studios but where are the games?

Sorry friend but people that watch Champions League Soccer aren't the people that is gonna get convinced by ads.

100 million people watch Superbowl and most of them stay for Superbowl ads which is a fest itself. The best of the year.

Well the thing is, Media Molecule has been working on Tearaway as well, SCE Santa Monica released GoW Ascension earlier this year and Naughty Dog released the Last of Us in June. They all have second teams who have been working on these games. The games will probably be announced soon, but they already have 5 first party exclusives announced for PS4 (and 2 for PS3)

Oh okay then, nobody in Europe who watches "Champions League Soccer" pays any attention to the ads despite the final being the most watched sporting event in the world. Oh, and this sponsorship leads to advertsing for over 100 matches... Unlike the SuperBowl where anyone watching internationally gets different adverts, everyone sees the pitch side ads which is where Sony sponsor.

And finally, I seem to recally Sony advertising God of War Ascension at the Superbowl yet the game not selling well, funny that

I hate it when "gamers" call people who like Madden and shooters "dude bros." Football is one of the most tactical sports around and COD is just mindless fun. What the hell is wrong with that? -_- Seriously, whenever I see someone say "dude bro," I immediately think "winey nerd who was bullied in high school." Get off your high horses, some of you. Seriously. They're just games.

World Cup final is the most watched sport event not Champions League. GoW: Ascension was dead on arrival, it just had the usual fake hype you guys create about your games then they flop on sales. Look at TLOU, the most hyped game this gen but it's craling to get to 3 mil after being released 3 months ago in the wake of next gen reveal.

People that don't play them or suck at them say stuff like that. It's the same reasoning behind fanboyism.
